I have used them occasionally and found the quality to be comparable to DMC and Anchor. Many of the charts in the magazines list Madeira colours and Jane Greenoff of the The Cross Stitch Guild now uses Madeira for her designs.
Oh that's great thank you for letting me know re quality. I've never used them before and was concerned as some people say other makes are of inferior quality and colours run etc if you have to wash your design when you finish. She had quite a stash so will take me a while to get through them all, will try and post a picture later!!0 -

Sorry to hear about your family members flat Eric.
Im being nosey now but im just wondering what's the largest and most time consuming cross stitch project you've ever done?
And where is the cheapest place to buy a tapestry frame from?
I've been stitching for many years and I always have more than one project on the go so I'm not sure what has taken the most time but this design did take ages because of all the beads

Ok, this is the stash of threads I inherited. On the left, the madeira ones on the right selection of left over colours from kits and luckily most of them numbered!!

Hi ladies.
Sweetcarer. Purple work is coming along brilliantly!
Bobbi. Hope your mojo comes back soon and I look forward to seeing your LL progress. Nice stash, happy sorting
momentsofsanity. Nice update.
Maria. Nice owls, I like them alot!
Elle. Very nice update!
Erics mum. I store my threads in number order. Colour groups would be fine if you were wanting to change a particular colour on a chart to a different shade but if a chart calls for number (off top of my head) 505 I have no idea what colour that is so would have no idea which colour group to look for it in.
Ailsb. I feel for you, palpitations are scary aren't they! I had an ECG and a 24 hour trace when mine started but luckily for me they were just anxiety related.
I hope you feel better soon.
Mrsmp. Look forward to seeing an update on Tinkerbell.
As for me.
Got some stitching time on saturday while watching F1 qualifying and hubby slept on the sofa:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
And this is the cross stitch hubby found amongst boxes in the garage, washed successfully with thanks to many on this board and the wonderful star drops!! Now to get the mojo back and finish it.............

Bobbi. Love the LL cottage. I have a 'thing' for cross stitched houses, have a few in my stash but not stitched any yet. I have a LL kit called 'The Bookshop' quite fitting title as I am an avid reader.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0
