did i dream it or did DMC release a book of the "secret perfume" charts? Can't find it online anywhere.

If anyone has a copy they wish to sell or swap.....................:D

I meant to reply to this yesterday. I don't remember there being a book? but I do recall (I think) that when you purchased a secret perfume thread, you got a free chart? I think I purchased the strawberry thread and the apple thread so will have to have a look. incidentally do you think we will need a new thread soon??

still snowy outside and i don't need to go anywhere. So I'm tidying up my embroidery threads - winding new ones onto those plastic bobbins and transferring older ones from the dog earred cardboard bobbins to nice new plastic. I've got a couple of packs of DMC numbers too - it's all looking very posh.

Still not sure how to arrange them though. I've got those plastic craft boxes for them but do I store them in numerical order or by colour groups Views would be welcome.

I'll post a pic when finished (probably next winter !!).

    Linda xx

I store mine in numerical order, as I find it easier to find them that way.

Just listed a bunch of magazine charts on eBay, have hundreds of charts still left to sort through lol
It's a shame you can only list 100 things a month though!

hope you had a good day in the end sweetcarer

Forest walk is AMAZING Elle1267 - sooo detailed.

ERICS MUM - same as Maria. I have DMC in 2 craft storage boxes and anchor in 2. then a small one for verigated/ metallic.
I keep meaning to do the 'spare' bobbins and forgetting. wish anchor would release stickers like the DMC ones.

Flat Eric - you used to be able to buy mini kits which had the chart/ aida and thread. I had the honeysuckle one. but when they'd been out a while my hobbycraft sold the threads off half price so I had threads and no charts. could probably google and find freebie kits for them but i'm too lazy :)

5000 posts then I'll make a new thread - who will get the last couple and how long will it take us?
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:
  • A somewhat blustery yet snow free day and what little we did get overnight has thankfully gone!!

Just wanted to ask all you experts, as well as the cross stitch frame I also inherited some madeira threads from my mother in law. I've never used this brand before tend to stick to DMC then Anchor. Just wondered what quality they are and is there a conversion colour chart available so I know which DMC/Anchor colour it is similar to.

many thanks in advance ............ might even pick lilliput lane up tonight!! xx

Elle - your HAED (asume it is) is looking great, as others have said it looks like a paintint.

Flateric - I store in number order. Have 3 DMC boxes, 1 anchor and one miscellaneous plus a clear box of Madeira which I've never used, they were free with a subscription my mum did and ininherited them.

BobbisMummy - can't help re Madeira as I say I inherited some from my mum but have never used them.

Its snowed here now since Friday, although roads aren't too bad. I ended up A&E last night with palpitations but they ran an ECG and couldnt find anything wrong. Now needto wait for a 48 hour trace to be carried out. This year has been awful what with one thing and another and wwe're not even a 1/3rd of the way through.

I know others have far worse going on and I apologize for moaning.

Soulie - hope you are feeling ok.

No stitching for me at the moment. Into my knitting, have finished great nephews jumper for Easter, finished (but not sewn up) jumper for me and currently knitting hood on secind jumper for me. Once these are done I will get back to my stitching - I promise.

Off to watch Our Girl Turner (?) now.
