shelley-thanks for the advice shelly. think ill give even weave a go.
JCS1-I lobe your lady in red.
Can any one help? I've started a new project, found an old un started popcorn teddy kit, perfect for my small in between project to get me remotivated to do my tiger.
Any how back on topic, most of the stitches are single strand and I have 2 problems:
1. My strand keeps getting knoted! Every other stitch or so I end up undoing knots.
2. I get about half way though my strand (starting length approx. 1 metre) and it just pulls apart without any tugging like its worn thin.0 -

Make the lengths 30cms or so, and every now and again let the needle drop (it will untwist the thread and hopefully prevent knots).
Does it state what brand of thread it is? I find I get lot more knots with Anchor than DMC0 -

No doesn't mention brand of thread. I wish it wouldn't keep spliting. Its just done it again and I have about 10cm left on my needle and 5cm left in worked in my project both with thin ends. Like when you stretch a plastic bag and it goes thin then breaks.0 -
Suspect the kit may have used a cheap brand of thread, only thing I can suggest is trying shorter lengths.0

Thanks, knotting solved! :-D splitting not so but still I can work slightly better.0
