    Good Morning Ladies

Off on leave today as I have a hospital visit, so took a days leave instead of all the fuss of trying to get a day off.

So I have finished the first of my hearts for Sandy Hook -it is in my favourite colour - purple. Not to sure of how the purple looks - meant to be 3 different shades of purple - so here is some photos.

Going to take a wee break to the next one and do some of purple work part two - would love to finish it for 31-3-13. Made a wee start during the film last night as I finished purple heart yesterday.

Well better get some lunch before I go to the hospital.

    Keep well everyone

These are lovely. Did you get the missing aida you needed? If not I'm sure I have some to spare as I rarely stitch on aida these days

Hello everyone, hope you are all warmer than I am, I am absolutely freezing!

Flat Eric, not playing FarmVille, I'm too addicted to candy crush, it's making me so mad as I am stuck again.

    Charlie that tiger is beautiful!

I finished my Somebunny piece and it was very well received by my friend, now to decide on something new or a WIP......

This is so cute - no wonder your friend loved it

Looking forward to reading about what you decide for your next piece (pieces)

Thank you for your kind comments on my Somebunny, I really enjoyed stitching it too. Have decided on some white tigers for the next piece, alongside another birth sampler for some colour, will add some pictures once I have done a fair bit.

Hope everyone is warm and well today x

Thank you! I've had a look particularly at that crafty kitten website but its hard to tell how glittery the fabric actually is - any thoughts on this?

The base fabric is the same for all her hand dyed fabrics and how glittery the final effect is does to some extent depend on the colour of the fabric. It might be worth considering buying a small piece in a colour you like? I don't know what else to suggest as the sparkly effect doesn't really show up in photos - one of my current WiPs is stitched on white opalescent Cashel linen but you can't see it in the photo

Hi, what tablet is it and what photo hosting site are you using, i'll see if i can find anything to help.

Loving everyones updates, particularly the wolves and tigers, i love animal stitches. There is a nice looking elephant one in next months WOXS.

BD update time, managed to get quite a bit done, almost completed this page so thats another one down :)

The fur looks as though you could stroke it. I thought you might like the elephant design in next month's WOCS :D
  • Evening all,

I would love to join in if that’s okay. Have been following the thread for some time and also reading through the previous threads and have really enjoyed seeing everybody’s stitching. I looked out a UFO which I have had for some years – in fact can’t even remember when I got it but it still has an Argos ticket on it and its called Winnie the Pooh - Pooh’s Picnic Party. Very little of it has been done and although it’s colourful and fun it’s no longer something that I would want to spend time on although that might change if there was somebody to gift it to when finished. I have seen some really lovely charts and have just to decide which one to choose and in the meantime I have been doing some of the small kits from the cross stitch magazines and some little designs from the magazines themselves for cards and bookmarks. I like Joan Elliott’s Mother and Daughter; Lizzie Kate Promise Me; Night before Christmas Sampler; Dimensions A Treasured Time; Dimensions Holy Nativity – all of which I discovered on these threads – have managed to find all of the charts apart from the Holy Nativity one which I’m still working on. Also like the Emily Peacock hug and kiss cushions – so much choice – so little time!

    Happy stitching

    Welcome to the Cafe

If you really don't want to spend your valuable stitching time on the WTP design you could auction it - it's been mentioned on here that part completed kits sell. A friend of mine was delighted to buy a partly stitched kit when she was looking for a design from years ago.

Love your list of projects - perhaps you should also consider joining the 13 in 13 thread as well :D

    Morning.

Mum20to2boys - sorrry missed saying how nice your somebunnh piece was yesterday.

Nmm - I'm using a galaxy 7"tablet and flicker. I can get the phone tk fliker now (if I remember frkm the last time I tried) but don't know how to highlight the link to copy it to here. Thanks for your offer of help.

JCS1 - nice choice of kit. Is it going to be stitched for yohr mum?

Periwinkle - welcome, looking forward to seeing your pieces, your list sounds really interesting.

I spent ages last night trying to perfect cut work. Luckily I used a piece of fabric I've had years and not my main piece as I've concluded j can't do it. I managed to cut the threads but then when binding the next bit it looks really messy. Think I'll wait to see what other stitches are released in he months to come and substitute the cut work. Don't wang to spoil the piece when its cost quite a lot.

Off to work shortly, see you all later. Have a good stitchy day those that manage it.

Because of your links to the MB SAL I subscribed though I have to confess I have done no more than download the charts and sort out the fabric and threads. I've had a look at the Feb instructions - have you completed all of the Kloster blocks before doing the cutting? I find this is preferable to stitching and cutting a block at a time but this may not be the issue. Practising on a spare piece of fabric is ideal - don't give up

    Keep losing my reply!

Just wanted to say hello to all the new members. Love all the WIP pics and finishes. Well done! :T
I managed a bit of stitching at my meet up last Friday. I forgot to take my frame with me though, so it was slow progress.

Decorating has come to a standstill for now. Can't progress any further until my mum comes back up to wallpaper some more. New carpet is getting fitted in a few weeks. I can finish the first coat of paint on the walls before it gets fitted, but should I wait until after the carpet is laid before doing the top coat, do you think?

Having a good day so far. Was looking for a loyalty card in some old purses (found it in my current purse eventually!) and came across a £10 note and a stamp. :D

Need a coffee to warm up. Chilly here today. Brr!

  • Hi I'm looking at new kit and it gives me the following option...

    14 count Aida
    28 count evenweave

    What's the difference?

I'm terrible with looking at projects and kits on the internet its so much easier in person.

They would both be the same size but with evenweave it is easier to do half stitches (you have to remember to go over two holes in evenweave rather than the one with aida)
