    Love this looks so effective.

Mum has tracked down some "star drops" in Asda, so am going to try washing my lilliput lane cross stitch and see if the feint marks will come out. Also won some light blue aida and white aida on ebay yesterday enough to do the rabbit with bunting design in this months WOXS (though it won't be in time for this easter ;)) and enough white to use for smaller projects :)

    Hi All,

Snowing here today, just a flurry but enough of an excuse to stay in and stitch :p

Here's a couple of little finishes. The first is a keyring I've made for my boyfriend since he's just bought a classic mini. He designed it and I'm pretty pleased with how it came out.

The second is a 50th birthday card for my best friends mum. She loves angels and fairies so hopefully this will hit the mark.

These are both lovely and I'm sure will be well received

Hello everyone, hope you are all warmer than I am, I am absolutely freezing!

Flat Eric, not playing FarmVille, I'm too addicted to candy crush, it's making me so mad as I am stuck again.

    Charlie that tiger is beautiful!

I finished my Somebunny piece and it was very well received by my friend, now to decide on something new or a WIP......

Can anyone recommend any really glittery/sparkly aida/even weave?
Willow Fabrics and Sewandso both sell Zweigart fabric with sparkly bits. Then there are various companies that hand dye the opalescent fabric such as polstitches, sparklies and crafty kitten. Sewitall sell Fabric Flair fabric and all of their fabrics have the option of a lurex version

I've bought from all of these companies and never had a problem although there can be a delay if you order hand dyed fabric

    Hello,

I haven't been cross stitching since August 2011  And even now I am in the middle of knitting even than I should be in the middle of curtain making.

I moved with my family back to my home country last September and time has gone to settling in, learning a new job and teaching my mother tongue to my DD. Today thou I started sorting through my wool stash and I came across my WIP. So it is all now dragged downstairs with the frame etc and I am going to put it togehter again so that I can make some progress.

So here what my napping wolves look like now:

This already looks amazing and will be well worth persevering to finish it
  • no not told mum, she's been doing cross stitch for as long as I can remember and is a huge tiger fan so I bought this to make for her 40th Birthday, she is now 48/49 this year, so I've told myself I'm going to make it for her 50th Birthday along with a day trip for afternoon tea with the tigers.

I'll take a pic of where I am so far with it and I'll try to keep up with weekly updates hopefully it'll motivate me to get it done, that and the fact I only have 1 year 2 months till she turns 50!

Would it help if you worked out how many weeks you have left to finish it? You would need to allow for framing - say 4 weeks? Then divide the remaining chart by the number of weeks and it probably isn't very much stitching per week.

Just popping in to say hi before taking son to band (he plays tuba, so if anyone has a tuba pattern I'd be most grateful. Keep meaning to write to the magazines and ask them for a small one).

Soulie - glad you feel ip to posting on here and hope Friday isnt too bad.

JCS1 - Buttercup Farm looks lovely. What's next? I saw my first lambs yesterday made me feel really happy, silly I know but was a real "feel good" moment.

Marru - your Wolves looksmlike a big project, loking forward to the updates.

Flateric - not playing Farmville, but I'm managing to waste many an hour playing studid games such as Restaurant Story, Fashtion Story and Dragon Story, don't know why but they are very addictive.

Charlie - your Tiger is wonderful you MUST finish it, your mum will be thrilled with it. I think you should do as FOS suggests and see how much you need to do a week.

Sweetcarer - hope hospital went ok. Your Sandy Hook square looks great, purple is my colour as well. Glad to see you've made a start on the second purple work as well.

Maria - go you'll feel good about yourself after.

I didnt get any cross stitch done ag the weekend, we went to london, but I did do some of the mable figworthy SAL. I carried my frame across london on the underground gettjng many strange looks and managed about an hour in total. Hopefully will get another hour or so done later. Wish I could get photos on from my tablet.

Off to band now - well taking son.

Thank you! I've had a look particularly at that crafty kitten website but its hard to tell how glittery the fabric actually is - any thoughts on this?
