OT: Just popping in quickly to say WATCH DANCING ON ICE-ITV NOW! Not sure how far through it the number is, but I was lucky enough to see a pre recorded bit yesterday. It's when Jools Holland & Rumer sing & Jane & Chris skate to it.
They were AMAZING! I have loved them since I was 3 or 4 and to see them skate live was a total dream come true. I cried!
    Gotta dash...catch you later. :)

    Hello,

I haven't been cross stitching since August 2011  And even now I am in the middle of knitting even than I should be in the middle of curtain making.

I moved with my family back to my home country last September and time has gone to settling in, learning a new job and teaching my mother tongue to my DD. Today thou I started sorting through my wool stash and I came across my WIP. So it is all now dragged downstairs with the frame etc and I am going to put it togehter again so that I can make some progress.

So here what my napping wolves look like now:

hi all. not sure when I last posted.... I haven't caught up properly - have been skim reading posts so have some random comments to make.....

someone mentioned about dimension kits and their thread holders. I'm sure sewandso posted on their facebook wall raising the same question.... (on behalf of a stitcher) and the general response from the comments was that the thread cards supplied were pretty naff and so stitchers removed the thread to stitch and then stored the remainder using their own thread storage system.

Chicky the dictionary of houses finished piece looks amazing. :j I love the dictionary designs. (in fact I love most of the bothy thread kits :T)

re Bingo, I have tried both G*la and Mec&a online. Mec&a was probably the best and last sunday eve I won over a £100 :T not sure how I managed it but I couldn't cash it out quick enough! I decided to try G*la this weekend but don't go much on their online gaming facilities. There is limited choice and the games are expensive. I did put another fiver on Mec&a this weekend but didn't win. :( I have to say that I think my online gaming days are over..... On one of the sites, you could set yourself a (DAILY) depost limit... minimum was £10.00. maximum £50,000???? My account is set at no limit so I dread to think how much it would allow you to deposit....

I haven't managed any stitching this weekend (back at bingo yesterday - didn't win - (different club/more expensive/don't like the idea of a hobby where I don't get nothing out of it other than an empty wallet ! (much prefer my creative hobbies :T)

WOXS did arrive yesterday and I like the look of the bookmark free gift :j If you have this mag, have you seen the letter on the letters page. :rotfl:(you will know the one I'm talking about - the one that mentions another cross stitching mag :rotfl:

PS I knew there was something else I wanted to mention.... is anyone playing farm ville 2 ? another thing I've been playing over the last few days and another thing that is likely to scupper my cross stitch time although I have to say, I'm not warming to it like I warmed to farm ville 1!

    Hi all

Managed to get three hours stitching done last night which was really nice.

winnie the bookmark is lovely. I have this one in my stash to do at some stage,

JCS1 Buttercup farm is lovely .It looks so tranquil.

Marru looking forward to seeing the sleeping wolves finished.
  • CharlieRabbit - great picture. You've got to complete that. Start another smaller project and then swap between the two. I'm sure you will get back into it. ;) Does your Mum know about it? Keep popping back in and we will get you motivated. :D

Erics Mum - good luck sorting all those mags. It's lovely to 'donate' things to people who really appreciate them.

maria - keep meaning to buy some of those stickers - but I keep forgetting.

fos - I wish I was as organised with mags and project to do. I would like to think I could get a little bit more sorted during 2013. Must do something with the mags as they are starting to take over my limited wardrobe space. Might have to set myself a challenge. :D Hope you get your boiler sorted today.

Julie - love the keyring and fairy card.

winnie - love the bookmark. I have that one to do.

    JCS1 - I love Buttercup Farm :T

Marru - lovely to see you back in the Cafe. Good luck with your wolves.

Awarded myself lots of stitchy time over the weekend just in case I dont find time during the week :p. Have got a fairly busy week ahead so I thought I had better be prepared. :o

Had shower, off to wash hair and then we are off to a funeral.

    Take care everyone,

    b_e_g

PS Restricting time on laptop = more stitchy time I have found too.

  • It's a stunning piece but stitching isn't supposed to be a chore. I'd suggest starting something else, something small that can be finished fairly quickly. Perhaps set yourself one day a week where you stitch the tiger and then post photos of your progress on here. We love to see update pics and the encouragement may help. I get bored with large projects so I have multiple projects in progress and the big ones do get finished (well most of them :D). Good luck and hope we can inspire you to enjoy your xs

I'm fairly new to message boards, how do I add photos? I had trouble trying to link before.

Is it best to add them to my flickr account then post the link here?

no not told mum, she's been doing cross stitch for as long as I can remember and is a huge tiger fan so I bought this to make for her 40th Birthday, she is now 48/49 this year, so I've told myself I'm going to make it for her 50th Birthday along with a day trip for afternoon tea with the tigers.

I'll take a pic of where I am so far with it and I'll try to keep up with weekly updates hopefully it'll motivate me to get it done, that and the fact I only have 1 year 2 months till she turns 50!
