heres the welsh dragon i did

its from a kit called memories of wales

    th_IMG_0205_zps20daa738.jpg
this is the butterfly i did for my niece, Butterfly is from a Jean Greenoff kit and the flower border is taken from the naughty but nice cross stitch book. in the end i didnt have room for any wording other than her name as mum wanted it similar to but not identical to the one i'd done for her twin sister.

decided to stitch the tinkerbell sketch next, its all in back stitch and is a disney design. Interestingly there is an authenticity certificate included in the pack to say which number of the limited edition it is and it says on the pattern This design is not to be restitched due to copyright laws As its to be a gift for my DD i presume when i frame it should i stick the authenticity certificate onto the back of the frame.

i did a few stitches on titanic this morning but still found theres not enough light

    Hi ladies.

Ailsb. I have an illness too, hubby calls it 'must have more than 1 of everythingitis' but I call it 'stock up on stuff while cheapitis' :D
If it doesn't go off I'll stock up on it.

    NMM. Nice update.

    Monkeysocks. Welcome!

Mrsmp. Dragon looks great. Love the butterfly, really pretty.
:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:
  • Hello all,

    Hope everyone's well.

blue_eyed_girl I love the 12days of Christmas. It looks brilliant! If love to do that one day.

Not much stitching going on with me just now. I did heaps at the weekend on my Hollywood design but then I went to the opticians yesterday and found out I need specs! So not only did that cost me a fortune, I can't really to do much stitching since reading the chart will strain my eyes! Boohoo.

Never mind though, I've made some cards to keep me busy. I was hoping to ask for some help if you don't mind. My boyfriend just bought one of the old classic minis and he'd like a key ring with a stitched mini but I can't seem to find one anywhere. All the designs I've come across are really big. I've looked through all my old mags for some quick stitch type designs but no luck. I was just wondering if anyone had seen anything similar and could point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance!

sweetcarer - sometimes we cant do right for doing wrong. Hope you manage to sort things out at work.

Well I got my kicking - or as one of the boys put it "chewing my a** off" - feel awful still - hopefully it will all blow over and I can get on with my job.

Have you tried ordering glasses on line - I got my last two pair online and spend no more than £50 for both compared to what b**ts was offering at £300. There is a thread somewhere on here about it - I used glasses direct - service was excellent. Also if you live in Scotland you should get your eye test for free.

No stitching tonight been at night class - so having a cuppa, mooch round internet and then bed for an early night. Been still feeling off - sneezing and coughing alot - will be glad to get to bed.

    Keep well everyone

    sweetcarer ;)
:j cross stitch forever, housework whenever :j
  • Mrs.MP - love pics particularly butterfly.

Julie - I'm really enjoying 12 Days but have put it away for a wee while so that I can do some of a rather large (for me) Sleeping Beauty (not of the Disney variety :D) as it has been put to one side since last August so that I could stitch a Winnie The Pooh pic in memory of my neice's little one who sadly passed away and I just haven't really got around to it. But I can confirm that SB is back out and has grown a little bit over the last two days. :j Hope you get your specs sorted - I love trying glasses on at the opticians (even when DH goes for his eye test).

sweetcarer - hope you are feeling better soon. I've had a cold threatening over the last couple of days and I think it's just about to come out now. Been to circuits class at gym tonight and I feel pretty yucky - early night for me too I think.

I think I might just have about used up the time I am allowing myself on laptop at any one time.

    Take care everyone

  • I was wondering if anyone could help me? I'm desperately trying to get hold of a Rainbow Days Birth Sampler (Winnie the Pooh and Piglet under a Rainbow) by Anchor and/or a Newton's Law Little 'Uns Birth Sampler (with Newton hanging on a washing line alongside bibs and socks). I believe both have been discontinued but there must be secondhand charts/unwanted kits out there somewhere I just don't know where to find them!
  • sweetcarer - Thanks for the glasses related advice. It's kind of new teritory for me. I got my eye test for free, fortunately, but I just ordered my glasses then and there. They had a deal on so I got the second pair for free. Still a bit of a shock to the system!

blue_eyed_girl - Margaret Sherry designs are so lovely and bright. Hope you get on well with your Sleeping Beauty.

Rainbow days birth sampler is in stock here for £21.99 and the Newton's Law one is here at £15.15, they were about the cheapest sites i found but i didn't check them all ;)

EDIT: I found the newton's law one on ebay but its a bit dodgy
