Evening all. Snowing here in Derbyshire. Picked up the 365 designs bookazine yesterday. Got the 'keep calm' designs in it. Does anyone know where I can get pieces of coloured aida similar to the 5x7 pieces sold by ATS or cross stitch heaven (can't remember which) but in other colours like lilac or teal or pink?

SOme lovely finishes - always inspiring to me

I would have a look on sew and so. failing that ebay? or willow fabrics? I know the designs you mean. My friend stitched them - I think she stitched with white thread on red aida.
  • just sneeking in quickly.

hobbycraft have kindly e-mailed out 25% off vouchers so (assuming we don't get a freak snowstorm tonight) guess where i'm off too.......

looks like a generic code for buying online/ printable voucher so if you want one *linky* valid until 24/2/13
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:
  • I have looked on Willow fabrics but thought their postage was a bit overpriced. Sewandso only do bigger pieces. I did find some on Goldleaf Needlework so I will see what they are like when they arrive.

I am stitching one in white on red aida to see what it looks like. Coming together pretty quick - another novelty to hopefully sell at a craft fair.

I am sorry to bore you all but it's been a loooong week....

Good news though - nephew is finally out of hospital!:T Little mite is making a good recovery, although my sister is watching him constantly because there's still the off chance he could have another seizure.

Mum has been undergoing tests now though, if it's not one it's another:rotfl: We were in the car coming back from her hospital appointment yesterday and saw smoke outside, and suddenly realised it was from the back of our car, on the fuel tank side:eek: I have never exited a car so fast in my life :rotfl:Turns out it was the brake caliper burning out, only near the fuel tank, but still not good!:o

Hope you have all been busy, I'm going to go look back at the posts. I haven't felt like tackling anything big so have just been doing some card sized pieces this week.

  • Has anyone got Lizzie Kate's A Good Marriage ?

I seen it on Facebook and would love to stitch it for our bedroom. Looking around our house you would never know I was a stitcher. I have two pieces for Jaxon's room which need framed and aside from that there isn't a single piece anywhere...lol

JCS1 - Your framed pieces are fantastic, and the mounts really set them off :T

Flat Eric - I'm with you on the shop issue. I feel bad for not buying from local craft shops, but cost is definitely the main issue.

Sweetcarer - Snowdrops are very pretty :D

Funny how many people are playing Coin Dozer :rotfl: I have the seasons version as well, I switch to that when I run out of coins on the other lol

Chicky - Loving the houses :T

Craftycrafty - What great finishes, they look fantastic :D

winniepooh - I have been stitching for about 18 years now. My mum bought me a Forever Friends kit when I was 15 and I have never looked back :D

Ruth_honey - Glad your brother is doing better - hope that a third thing doesn't happen!

Thank you to those who have asked about my nephew xxx

I can't get coindozer to download on my ipod touch :( but I suppose thats a good thing....

Cost is definitely a main issue for me when buying stitchy bits as is customer service and choice/variety of stash. Sewandso you can't fault although I do miss the free gifts they stuck in back along with your order.

A small haberdashery shop that I visited quite a few years ago now has lost a lot of custom from me after they simply couldn't be bothered to show me any interest or help in a cross stitch stand/frame I was thinking of buying. A shame as I have visited several times since but I can't bring myself to buy anything (mainly because their kits are so overpriced) but the lack of customer service/interest has stuck with me.
  • Louise - great news re nephew. Hope everything goes well with your Mum. How scary it must have been for you with the car - hope you manage to get that sorted too.

Flat Eric - just think of all those stitchy hours you have saved by not being able to install Coin Dozer :p:D. I have it installed on ipod touch. I think my main drain on stitchy time is probably the laptop atm - going to have to enforce a time limit on myself each evening. :)

Taken pic of 9th Day of Xmas so will sort that out next. Have brought Sleeping Beauty back downstairs and hopefully I will manage to have a look at it sometime today.

Must have only had a few flakes of snow overnight - didn't dare look out of the window after last nights forecast.

    Take care everyone
