Wow thats lovely. What are you going to do with it when you're finished?

    Aww, thanks :)

I've painted my bedroom white, so I am just going to make it into a wall hanging, and have it as the "colour" in the room - am going to try and get some fabric and match up the colours to make a couple of cushions too

I can't remember which show you are going to but most of them list the workshops and the exhibitors on their website.

I've never been to The Nimble Thimble shop but I have bought (lots) from them at a show - there were so many unusual things including wooden frames and US charts that I spent almost all of my budget for the show at their stand. But they didn't come back the following year :( I've bought a couple of my Lizzie Kate alphabet chart packs from them by calling them - I wish they had a website (on second thoughts I'm glad they don't as I am trying not to add to my stash :D )

Good suggestion re shorter lengths. Piece is almost finished now - only one word to complete

It's the show at the Excel, London. No workshop info on site yet, but perhaps it's too early. Show is in 2 months.

Nimble Thimble shop is lovely-but in the middle of nowhere! It's worth a visit if in the area, though. They do have a website now (must be fairly recent as they didn't the last time I checked), but there's no online shopping, so you're probably safe! :rotfl:
I spend loads when I visit the shop. Most of her charts/kits are totally my style & Chris is so lovely and friendly.

Having a busy today today. Got a very long list of things I need to buy for the decorating next week & I'm comparing prices to see what I need to buy from where. My mum is driving up to help, so I'll have a taxi on hand to make life easier! ;)
We're fittting & painting skirting boards, wallpapering, then painting. Any tips/suggestions would be welcome...:rotfl:

Can't see any stitching getting done today as my mind is full of worry for Pixie :(
Last night both girls were fine but this morning Pixie wasn't her usual self. She had some blood on one of her back paws and on closer inspection she has a wound on her belly. There was quite alot of blood in her beautiful white belly fur......cue me going into panic mode!
I calmed down and tried to wash the area thinking that it might be a small scratch and that she had spread the blood around by licking it. She wouldn't let me wash it or look for long enough to see the actual wound.
Got her in the Vets where the Vet said she had a flap of skin hanging and she could see the fat layer was exposed.
I've had to leave her there so they can sedate her later and take a good look at it :(
Hopefully that's the only damage and she can be cleaned up, stitched up, given a long term antibiotic and pain killer injection and back home later.

Oh, poor Pixie. Hope she's ok. Please come back later & let us know.
shelly - hope Pixie is ok.

    Never done Tapestry - soorrryyy.

I've been a good girl this morning, taken DS1 to school, went to the shops, gave DS2 an hour and a half at the play centre then went for my smear.
.......................can i reward myself with an hours stitching while DS2 naps instead of cleaning the house or doing other boring jobs?

Well done! :T You can definately reward yourself with stitching. AND a drink, if you ask me. Hate having it done, but after the Jade thing, I force myself to go.

No stitching here today :( Got my baby niece to look after (she is having a nap atm) - my sister phoned in floods of tears this morning, my 2yo nephew had a fit and collapsed, and I'm just waiting for news from the hospital :( I'm sure he will be fine, poor lad.

Oh goodness! I hope he's ok. My brother fell in the shower earlier & was taken to A&E as he was sick afterwards. My mum is with him now. Not a good way to start the week, is it?

    TMIF That's looking brilliant!

    Hi ladies.

Thanks everyone for the good wishes for Pixie. I called a little while ago and the lady said she was in theatre but doing fine. She commented on the size of the wound, it's big apparently.
I can collect her later if I receive no calls in the mean time.

Chicky. I hope you rewarded yourself with stitching and left the jobs for another day? I have to have my smear at Addenbrookes (hoping to get this changed soon) so whilst that way we go to Barhill Tescos and I treat myself to something nice, usually chocolately :D

Louise. Really hope your Nephew is ok and you hear good news soon!

TMIF. Nice update, it's coming along great.

Ruth. Hope your brother is ok and doesn't need anymore trips to A&E.

Louise - hope your nephew is ok and the baby sitting is gojng / has gone fine.

Ruth - hope your brother is ok.

TMIF - your panel is fab.

Now ladies I urgently ned your help. Have just found out that one of jy friends is 40 latervthis month, having her party 23rd. I'd like to stutch her a small present but don't know what. She's into the 50's burlesque and cats, oh and loves rock kusic. Was thinking of something a bit risky, possibly corset or stockings. Any ideas or links to charts (preferably fre or less than £5) I'd be really grtaeful. Off for a google now but have recollections of someone stitching stokcings. Oh, also needs to be a quick stitch due to time constraints.

Also need ideas for my Dads 80th birthday. Doesn, t drink or smoke. Made him a coaster with his initial and a tank lastvyear so coaster is out. Likes caravaning. That's needed for march 14th. I feel under pressure at the moment, but as hubby says "you don't have to do it so you must enjoy it or be mad" I think the later.

There's some bookmarks that might suit on this site...

They're likely to be in the erotica section. Ah...I'm having trouble with the website. Might be my browser. Anyone else get pics to load on CRN?

I think one of the mags ran a set of 'saucy' cards a while back. I'm sure there was one of a corset in there. Trying to find something online now...

Ooooh, I think this might be what I was thinking of. http://www.themakingspot.com/cross-stitch/pattern/its-a-love-thing

  • Hi everyone,

Lovely to see all your finished projects and updates. They all look great.
I'm still plodding along with all my different bits but if I remember i'll pop up a picture of The Waves tonight since I haven't done an update yet.

Ailsb - I don't know if this would be of any use, but I remembered seeing these 'saucy' designs in Cross Stitcher a few years ago and have just come across them again on the Making Spot. Maybe they'd be suitable?
