Got my 1st sub issue of WOCS today also
*Louise*, do you think the free rabbit card will be ok for mothers day? She has a birthday in July also if you think we might get something else before then.
Also what does everyone use to stick their cross stitch into cards? i tried double sided tape but maybe it was just rubbish stuff as it didn't stick, the only thing i found that sticks is glue dots from Pritt. Any help appreciated, thank you
Oh, i love that sunset silhouette looks really good and that horse is stunning.Cross Stitch Cafe Member No1WIP: Cross Stitch: - Crochet:0 -

Just got my subs copy too so gonna have a look through and compare noted, hehe.World of Cross Stitching Issue 200
Free Gift 1, Margaret Sherry Birthday Bunny card kit - Adorable! It does have that awkward style of backstitch (we need to come up with a name for that lol) but there isn't too much of it. This is going on my To Do list. Agreed, not usually in to cuddly stitches but MS designs are growing on me and see this one being done for bestie's may b'day.
Free Gift 2, Sampler chart book - Quite a god gift actually, samplers aren't y thing, but these are pretty and some motifs could be used on their own. - also agree - love the home sweet home one!
Fizzy Moon (2 bears with flowers and a glass of fizz) - Again, not really my thing, but a nice design. Would make a good engagement stitch. - feel the same, aww it would make a good engagement, splendid idea, if said couple likes cute and cuddly
Floral Fancy (teapot and rose) - Really not for me. - I actually quite like these, love the vintage look of the pot.
pg 24 (adverts)Michael Powell has released a new range called 'Postcards',7x5 designs. there is a picture of Tuscany there. That one isn't one I would do but I will google the rest of the range
Emergency ABC - Good that they have included numbers with this as well, I'm always looking for ideas for boys cards - poss will do a couple for friends 8yr old boy who may be coming to live with us - maybe he'd like to do his own..hmm
Heart and Home, no place like home hanging - Colourful, but not to my taste. - Eugh - don't like it at all...actually on a second look, potential to be changed and stitched, like the clouds though
Craft Xtra - Possibly the ugliest flowers I have ever seen in my life.... - hmm..int er esting
Pastimes & Hobbies - LOVE the 'Do not disturb, stitcher at work' (great size for a coaster) Loads of good small designs, I have earmarked a few for cards. - loving most of these!
Gadget Pocket - Great idea, pity I can't sew- me too but this inspires me - what a clever idea!
Reader Story - Who posted the picture a while back of the canvas bag with all the DMC colour range stitched on it? Cos that's who the story is about:T - awesome looking!
JE Kokeshi Dolls - I don't normally like these, but it's a very bright design and the sentiment is lovely. - Really like this!
Girly Cards - Exactly as described - girly- ooh like these!
Cat Bookmarks - My apologies to the designer but I really don't like these - thats ok, because I do... i have cats that are that sort of shape and could alter the design to match each one.
Cupcake of the bliddy month - Thought these had finished??:rotfl:- Eugh...so did i and this one looks wrong, far to skinny!
Blackwork Beauty - Flower in blue blackwork.
Preview- liking the pieces in next months.
This was fun, hehe0 -
Thanks for all the comments
Subtle-minx - It is 32 AA, and that is what I stitched, but I do agree from that angle it does indeed look like 52AA lol.:rotfl: I might try unpicking and re-doing to see if I can get it to look better.
Well no snow here yet, which is a good thing (though my children don't agree!) as we had an appointment at school.
My little boy has waited weeks to start at preschool, as all staff have needed to be Epipen trained, and we went in today to hand over all medicines. So now he can finally start at preschool on Tuesday, and he can't wait! He went in to meet his classmates and teachers whilst we were with the head teacher (Why does going to see the Headmistress in her office make you feel so small? :rotfl:). The teachers said he joined in really well, which is reassuring.
School have been fabulous, and although I am scared about him being away from us, I now trust them to take very good care of him.
Sorry for the Off topic, but the above explains why I haven't done much stitching this afternoon.
Right I have 10 minutes before I start tea, so I shall squeeze in a line or 2 of stitching.
Have a stitchy evening and stay warm

glad your little boy had such a lovely time and you were reassured that he will have good care taken of him.
he will be fine, ive been epipen trained and know how seriously schools take itSPC~12 ot 124

Mrs-Moneypenny- Yeah school have definately taken it seriously, they have trained all staff that will see him in Epipens, and made the school Nut Free (much to other parents disgust, which is a shame, but the head mistress has made the ones that complained realise it isn't for the fun of it that she has banned all nuts).
He also has an Egg allergy, asthma and eczema - so school have had to put a lot of new policies in to place.
I have known his teacher for 3 years (since my daughter was in preschool there) and I know she will make sure he is safe.
I think my worry is the few parents who were making comments in the play ground (saying it was so unfair that nuts are banned) will go against the school rule.
But now I know how pro active school are I do feel more at ease.
Thanks for listening (reading) my Off topic post!

I think it would be fine for Mothers day. I would probably stitch it anyway, and if there is something more suitable closer to the time, the rabbit can be given to someone else
I just used double sided tape for my cards, haven't had a problem tbh.mrs-moneypenny wrote: »i almost want to get woXS to see how bad that flowers really does look
