my 12yo has just left looking like sherpa tensing (sp) he never normally wears a coat what is it about boys that you have to nag them over basic outdoor clothing, he left this morning with 2 coats (anorak over a fleece) gloves, a hat and 2 pairs of socks. he'll get to school stuff it all in his bag and walk home in just his shirt and jumper. i even gave him 2 of those hand warmer things but he put them in his bag. without clicking them.
18yo is still psyching himself up to leaveSPC~12 ot 124

JCS1 - I recieved some of the threads yesterday, but still have some outstanding that haven't arrived. I've tried e-mailing her about these. I ordered these threads at the end of November! If I'd been told an estimated time of arrival I wouldn't have minded waiting for so long, just felt a bit forgotten about. Maybe everyone ordered their threads and it was too much! Have you tired e-mailing ATS to see if they can give you an update as well? I'm getting to the point where I might have to buy another thread (wasn't one of the colours I got yesterday! ahh). I hope we both get our orders soon.
I saw that top in Sanisbury's as well, its a proper cross stitch top isn't it! Really pretty!
I tried doing my stitching with crossing off the chart (made a photocopy for my own use) and its great! I'm speeding up a lot without having to guess and then count what I've already done:rotfl:Thank you sooooo much for this great advice everyone! I'm going to make a thread organiser this weekend as the cereal is now running out so was going to use that box.:T0 -
Morning everyone,
The snow finally seems to have found us in the North of Scotland, i'm considering staying in my pjs all day!
Just ordered the Starfish wedding sampler for my friends wedding so looking out eagerly for the postman, although my boyfriend's a postie so i've told him to grab it if he sees it!
Hope you're all safe and cosy x0 -
Afternoon all. Picked up Cross stitcher this morning too. Thought another one was due out today but couldn't find it so may be mistaken.
Again, if anyone wants the self cover buttons, do drop me a PM and I will get them off to you. Not something I will use.
Started doing Avon before Xmas and already p****d off with it. DOn't think it will last much longer. Can't get any answer from my sales upliner or even the manager

thanks peoples. it doesn't look quite as green in the picture but hey ho, I must have thought it was green at some point lol.
I think she's got to move end of Feb so as long as it's done by 1st March I'll be ok - should get it done by then. but not tonight as I have a job application to write - BOOORRRIINNGGGGG!!!!!!!!loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
Got response from ATS, they didn't get email from paypal back at the end of December but can see the payment when they log in, so are sending out today.
Hopefully finish Peak District Map tonight :T0 -
Hello everyone,
Thought I would sneak in and wish everybody a very belated Happy New Year!
I've been lurking and getting the email update each morning so I can see so much gorgeous stuff has been done. I'm especially loving the African Sunset and the Dictionary of Homes.
Hello to anyone new
I've managed to get some stitiching finished (I know, I couldn't believe it either!).
This is the Christmas Sampler from Cross Stitcher that I was trying to finish for 12-12-12; in the end it was finished on 31-12-12 as I refused to go out until it was done!

I have also spead along with Margaret Sherr's 'Cat In Bag'. When I finally worked solely on that one it didn't take long at all.

At the moment the cross stitch has been put to one side as I'm knitting a blanket for my new niece/nephew and also sewing an owl doorstop/cushion (not decided which its going to be yet).
WIP's for this year are - Make Do & Mend (but i don't want to finish it as I've really enjoyed stitching it!!!), the Dimensions Wizard that i've had for years and the converted photo of my puss cat which could well end up being 'pop art' in style as I'm really not sure about the colours!
I would also like to do a HEAD but for some reason can't work out what size 14ct aida I would need and I'd like to do a stitch of my Wedding Bouquet - I have the photo edited & ready to convert but I think this will be properly converted, not through a free site (not very MSE but I don't want to risk colour problems like the cat pic may have!).
Hope you are all keeping warm in this awful weather.Cross Stitch Cafe 2011 - no 58 :A

JCS1 - Wow, can't believe that is real cross stitch on that top. It must take so long to make them:eek:
ASC - Loving the safari design, I have one on the go myself African Horizon (not that I have done much with it yet tbh):oLooking forward to seeing more updates.
Chicky - Can I just say, I think the green rather than the blue probably makes the water look more 'murky' and more like seawater iyswim. I never even noticed it until you pointed it out.
mrsm - I was quite surprised how large the quilt squares were as well. I think with the amount of people who are doing a large number of squares they are going to have loads, I am only going to send the one in that I have done. Tbh I put so much thought and planning into that one, I really feel that if I stitched another it wouln't feel as special to me, if that makes sense.
ejs - welcome back, good to see you got your christmas picture completed, it looks great, very colourful and I LOVE the Margaret Sherry cat!:T If you post up details of the design you need the fabric for, I'm sure we can help convert for you.
All this talk of schools closing - there are none around here which have closed, and we had LOADS of snowfall on Monday. My DS1 wasn't happy this morning, he got to the bus stop and realised his wallet had fallen out of his pocket, byt the time he found it in a snow drift he had missed the bus. Option 1 - public bus then half hour walk. Option 2 - taxi £10, but he had to pay for it himself. He chose the taxi, and has learned a valuable lesson!
I made some lentil soup this morning, just had a huge bowl full and I'm now going to do some stitching and watch Corrie on catchup. I aim to complete this page of Touched By Magic (page 18 of 21) before I let myself do anything else........cos Twilight Silhouette arrived today and I am itching to start....:rotfl:Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. ASC - Safari Sunset is really beautiful. Go on, bite the bullet and have a good look at White Lightening - it may not be as bad as you are expecting.
gildus - I think I forgot to congratulate you on progress on Wall of China the other day. Its coming along really well.
fos - MS 12 Days of Christmas came out of "The Best of Margaret Sherry' Book. Its by the makers of Cross Stitcher mag. I think it was about a tenner and has 116 charts. I dont know if the 12 days has appeared in the Cross Stitcher mag as thats not one I've had.
JSC1 - love the Sainsbugs top. I think I would be passing it off as my own handiwork:D
chicky - sea looks fine. Great progress btw. Your friend will love it I'm sure. Your little ones look soooo cute.
Sweetcarer - hope all is well with you. You seem to have been missing for a little while.
Hope you all get your threads soon. It can be so frustrating.
ejs - love your finishes. I thought that was an MS cat - looks very similar to the one I've just done for 5th Day of Xmas.
Should get neices card/pic finished over the next couple of days (just got white stitching on white aida to do  and some of the backstitch).
Got to go back out again soon to collect prescription, pick up a birthday card and I want some more of that white salt stuff for the ice and we've used up all our supplies.
Take care everyone and stay safe. More damned snow forecast for us on Friday.
