THanks for all your kind comments on my display. I will let you know after the event how it all went. I did have some help with quite a few of the pieces from a lovely forum member and for that I will be ever grateful.
I am sort of looking forward to going back to some bigger pieces to stitch as I have several on the go but I know that if the fair is a success of any sort I will be thinking about making a start on stitching more things to sell plus my mum saw some of my things and asked for a couple of them to be Christmas presents for her to give so already lots more to stitch.
Regards

Yay its Friday! already planning on lots of stitchy stuff this weekend. :j
yes I love my lunch club. we did do it earlier in the year but it fell by the wayside because we both ended up being busy but I think its important to make time for it so hopefully we will keep it up this time :j
I have started a food blog if anyone wants to follow it.
Details here
It will run along side my cross sttich blog - I haven't posted there for ages and now I'm considering starting a book blog!

Good morning Stitchers
Another busy few days in the Cafe for me to catch up with (love it)
laura I think that you have made great progress with removing the hoop marks. Have you checked how much of the material will be covered by further stitching? Also you could have the piece framed with a mount right up to the stitching which would hide almost all of the un-stitched fabric (though you would probably have to pay a framer to do this). And you're right - no one else will notice - they will just be amazed by your beautiful stitching
I love your cute reindeer cushion. It's so close to being finished you will be able to display this Christmas
Love your blackwork owl and Newton hug
chicky Hope you will continue to persevere with your Christmas Stocking and have it finished on 12 12 12
I've got that issue of Cross Stitch Gold if you want aSame message goes to Maria and Mrsmp Good luck with your quest to get the subscription gift.
What a great selection of Christmas designs - I agree that bigger designs which have sections seem to grow more quickly as there is a sense of achievement at each stage
elle After investing so much time and effort into stitching your beautiful Japanese Ambience piece I would strongly recommend that you have it professionally framed. Yes it will cost quite a lot (possibly somewhere around £50 - £70) but it will look so much better. That's my opinion and it's what I have chosen to do - I will happily frame small pieces myself but big pieces go to the framers. In fact last week I took in 2 pieces I stitched ages ago - The Dreamer by Mirabilia and Morning Song by Lavender & Lace. Both have double mounts and non reflective glass and cost me £54 and £37 - a lot of money (which is one of the reasons for the delay in getting them framed) but when I think about the cost of the materials, the hours I spent stitching them and the pleasure I will get from seeing them displayed on my wall then I think it is a worthwhile investment.
Red lacquer would be stunning (and probably not easy to find to do it yourself). Black lacquer might also work if you can't get the right shade of red. Feel free to ignore my comments
FE Craft Club at work sounds fun
Emma I think your stand looks really good and you must be very proud of the results of all your hard work recently. I wouldn't cover the notice boards - I think the cork effect is very nice. Good luck with the day.
Re 22 count hardanger - I assume the kit is cross stitch and not hardanger? Is the recommendation to stitch over 1 or 2 threads? Are there plenty of threads and are they DMC or Anchor so easy to add to if you ran short as changing from 22 count (over1) to 14 count would take slightly more thread and some kit makers are very mean with their threads
Skoobie Imagine looks lovely. I was stitching this and stopped because I didn't have any suitable beads - seeing yours makes me want to finish mine. This is where I got to

mrsmp Well done on finishing your wip

mallowbrain Welcome to the cafe. Those Dimensions designs are certainly challenging and thanks to Maria for posting links to the charts. Perhaps starting with the smaller one would be a good idea?
JCS Looking forward to seeing Finishing Post again - it's a lovely design. I think that Heritage produce some outstanding designs across a big range of styles and topics
My DH takes meds for high blood pressure (and lots of other meds as well). Don't be too alarmed about the possible side effects - there are lots of options so if one type doesn't suit you they will probably switch you to another. I know it sounds a bit trial and error but different people react differently.0 -

I agree, my mother-in-law swears by getting her big projects professionally framed. She did suggest I get my Noahs Arc framed but as it as intended to be a money saving christmas present I don't know if I can afford itWe'll see...

I was just browsing your post again chicky and it struck me that a 'Twelve days' design would be a perfect one to complete on 12.12.12.:T
Now I have stitched the second one and it took aaaages :rotfl:but the first one is more simple and I reckon I would have time to fit that in with my other Christmas stitching.
