Hi everybody :hello:
So here is the 'after' picture of the cross stitch once cleaned
So the marks are much better... but not perfect
Last night, as that was still drying I picked up a cushion cover I started before last christmas and then just never got around to finishing. It is a bit different to normal as it is xstitch with wool and the canvas was pre-printed but I think it will be a lovely christmas cushion when finished. Maybe before this christmas!! :rotfl:
And this was where I finished last night-
I just have all the dark blue to finish and a few stars/snowflakes0 -
Someone on this thread stitched a little blackwork owl a few months ago and my Nan loves owls so I thought I'd stitch it for her for Xmas and try and frame that first. If it doesn't work out I could always make it into a card for her.
have a good evening
X
Was this the blackwork owl? I have also done it and framed it:
Very cute
Also thought I'd share another finished project- I did this for my then boyfriend for Valentines Day about 9 years ago. Boyfriend is now my husband0 -
what lovely pieces, well done Laura.
you are right washing has greatly improved the marks, i can hardly see themin the photo and im only able to see a bit because i know where it was from prevoius photo. im sure it wont be noticable once its finishedSPC~12 ot 124

Thanks. I know they are much better. I even applied the stain remover direct to the stain and left it a while before washing through so not sure what else I could do...
I'm sure I read a tip a long long time ago that you can use white tailors chalk to disguise marks if lightly applied. But I may have made that up in my head. :rotfl:
Anyway.. I'm just going to carry on and see what the finished result is. As you said, I'm sure I'm only seeing it because I'm looking for it.
I think I shalld do abit more on my cushion cover today and then pick up Noahs Arc tonight, maybe do another shade of grey on my zebra
Ps May I also join the christmas card exchange? To whom shall I PM my details?

Hi Laura,
I didn't see the original picture and can't see where the marks were.
I love the two reindeers and the one you did for your boyfriend/husband:D
The blackwork owl is very special. I've never attempted blackwork but am always amazed by how good they look.0 -
Ladies - here is my planned layout for the craft fair on Sunday. I thought notice boards were the best way to show off the keyrings but not sure if I should cover them with paper or something first?!?!?!
Do you think it looks too bare or too much of anything? I have other cards and keyrings to fill the spaces assuming I actually sell anything (and obviously put some on the notice board on the left first). I would love peoples opinion please

youve reminded me i also really liked that blackwork angel when i was flicking through mags in a shop the other week must go back and see if its still there.
This was in Cross Stitch Gold, I went to Smiths to get CrossStitcher today, after everyone's reviews of the Christmas designs last week. Luckily they still had a copy but I was so so so tempted to get both XS Gold for the angel and Christmas placemats and XS Collection for the dragonfly fairy and the gingerbread men decorationsI have serious Christmas Cross Stitch issues :rotfl:
I am about to go and sit and read Cross Stitcher while I wait for OH to get home for dinner.Ladies - here is my planned layout for the craft fair on Sunday. I thought notice boards were the best way to show off the keyrings but not sure if I should cover them with paper or something first?!?!?!

Emma it looks awesome! You've been so busy :T
I think it's a good idea to keep things in reserve, especially if they are similar to the things already on display. And you could cover the boards if you have the time, maybe with some plain coloured fabric? (I'm thinking old sheets if you have any?)
Oh and I finished Imagine today, 16 lunchtimes worth of stitching
