  • got cross-stitch card shop today, just need threads & aida now.
whilst clearing out bedroom i found 4 xmas cards i had stitched for kids a few years back & saved. 4 different tatty teddys. any ideas what i could re-cycle them into? they already have stitched stockings, but although small, the cards are just beautiful & would love to re-use them!
It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.

 OH is out tomorrow and will be eating at lunch time so that has somewhat scuppered my plans to cook a casserole as he might not want tea in the evening and I don't really want to cook it for one....

So not sure whether to head to the shops or whether to still have home shopping but just what I need.... and then spend the day stiching (or half heartedly tidying up....) decisions decisions....

hi all, please can i join in (hellooo to all the let it snow/holly & ivy peeps!).
havent actually picked up a needle in almost 9 months, but determined to take up cross stitch again this year, and stitch all family bday & xmas cards. I also want to find a polar bear as an on-going large project for 2013!
problem is, i got rid of all my stash and am having to start all over again on a very small budget. can anyone recommend which mag is best to buy for small, free project designs, as i was planning on just buying some threads and aida for now. also, i always stitched with anchor before, anyone know of any deals at the mo?
    thankyou in advance

welcome pink and fluffy. lovely to have you. tell us a bit about yourself / what have you stitched / what do you like stitching. grab a coffee, pull up a chair...

Mags_cat - Your dragon is lovely. I like the colours.

Louise - Two more finishes. Do you have any room left on your walls? They both look great framed.

Caroline - Sorry about your husband's job.

Pinknfluffy - Welcome to the cafe:wave:

Mrs MoneyPenny - Well done for getting organised:T. I don't know why I find it so hard.

My mums birthday project arrived yesterday so I have been getting stuck into that. Also still have her card to make.

A bit late as *louise* already ordered her chart but i found i am a Stitcher in the uk for £6, maybe useful for someone else :) It also has Let's Sew for £3.75

pinknfluffy28, welcome, cross stitch card shop is probably a good mag for you, there is usually an offer on like 3 for £5 or 5 for £5 there were some links posted about 5-10 pages back :)

Sorry can't remember who was doing the "dogs in the snow" photo conversion, but i eagerly await updates on it, would love to turn some photos into cross stitch, particularly ones of doggies no longer with us :(

Hi nmm, the dogs in the snow image is of mine -problem is one of those naughty dogs took my legs out from under me on New Years Eve and I have suffered whip lash (or dog lash) as the Dr called it! Hoping to be able to start it tomorrow and will certainly update as soon as I can.

Hope you have all managed to get some stitching in today and I love seeing all your updates. :money:

    Good Evening Girls

Sorry been MIA been. Have been out of sorts and quite upset with stuff and seeing Carolines message brought it all back. We are in the same situation - we manage most months but I have to hold my breath for the end of month.

Well I have done some stitching - been working on a calender for work (seen it on facebook and thought that looks nice) and was so impressed with it I am doing another one for my former mother in law for her birthday next week. The one I did for myself is in purple and hers will be in green. It is from Kincavel Krosses - they also designed my wee seasons. The frames were cheap too - I got them for a pound (for five) in the Barnardos charity shop. They are meant for Christmas cards for you to put a photo in.

So when I finish the green one off, will do my other O so I can post it off for the AOY charity quilt.

    Keep well everyone

Cheers for that, love the lets sew one! :)

    sweetcarer- I love your Calender!

Caroline - patches are coming along really nicely, I just ordered some more fabric for the one i'm doing. Let me know if you need anymore threads or aida, I'm in awe of doing 30. I'm struggling with my one for Jesse but have come up with a design now and ordered supplies from 123 stitch.

Mags- Dragon is lovely - thinking of getting new i love cross stitch dragon and unicorn book when released :)

Bossy, glad you got your frogging sorted and can continue

Louise - the speed and quality that you churn things out amazes me.

MMP- sounds like you're sorted for the foreseeable with what to stitch.

    Sorry if missed anyone out.

    Happy New Year Everyone!

I love the calendar...they look so effective, would be a great idea for a craft fair....xx

Thank you, my design is quite simple so 30 isn't very daunting and as I am going to stitch each one slightly different I shouldn't get bored of doing them...xx
