  • Hello all, I've only just found this thread, but I think it might be my home :D

I've always loved cross stitching but only got back into it last year, after I was diagnosed with a chronic back condition which has left me unable to work (or walk very well).

For Christmas I stitched a lovely tree design by Celtic Rose Needlecraft, and some little card designs by Hobbycraft.

My current project is the Autumn Gold design by Cinnamon Cat. I've finished Spring Fever and Winter Wonderland, so after Autumn I'll do Summer! I've also got a gorgeous coffee design to do, and I've ordered an army uniform design to do for my dad - either for his birthday in March or Father's Day.

I looked through some of your projects and they're all really lovely. Unfortunately I had to make a resolution not to buy more until I've completed what I've got.. Money saving is a pain sometimes ;)

Chicky - can I ask something about your stitching?

When you post your update photos (love the DOH, by the way - it's growing fast!) you always seem to have the fabric quite loose in the hoop/frame. Is that how you stitch or are you releasing the tension on the fabric after you've finished stitching? I have to have my fabric really taut when I stitch, I don't think I could manage if it was loose. Just interested - it's fascinating to see how different people approach it. Bit like seeing someone else's progress pictures on a design you've stitched - no-one ever stitches it the same way you did.

    Ta :)

ohh it does look quite loose doesn't it, it starts off taught but works itself loose occasionally then i just tighten it up.

    hello purple crutches

I know the post is bad but seriously - me thinks someones inputted something wrong somewhere.
or perhaps they are sending it by pigeon?

That is a long wait! Maybe it's Amazon's way of telling you that you should be stitching, not reading? ;)

    hello purple crutches

    Ah I see - thanks :)

I know someone who always stitches without a hoop or frame at all and thinks I'm odd for always using a frame. Weird! :rotfl:
