Would anyone mind photographing the back of their work so I can see it please, I always think mine look terrible!
I will take a pic when I finish mine on the 3rd
I never worry about the back though, no one but me and the framer mannie will see it, so it's our little secret:rotfl:

My DD's had a photograph of my 2 border collies converted to a Xstitch chart but they are playing in the snow and as you can imagine there a lots of one or two stitch pieces across the areas.

As you asked so nicely...;)
This is one of my UFO's from around 2000. Still not finished...
Back then I didn't know about loop start method or threading the ends of the thread into the stitches before trimming it. You learn more and more tips as you stitch.
And this is from about 2 or 3 years ago. Getting neater.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Thanks to all the girls in the Cross Stitch Cafe! You're all fantastic! :A0 -
This might be another long catch up post from me and as it is NYE can I suggest a glass of something festive while you read it
mrsmp Lovely news about the new addition to the family and what a great excuse for stitching a birth sampler
chicky great progress on DOH.
I've got Lisa Boyer's other book That Dorky Homemade Look which is mainly about quilting but still very amusing. I can loan it to you while you are waiting for your Amazon delivery. It could be with you on Thursday - pm me with your address if you want me to pop it in the post on Wed.
elle love Darth Vader and the fabric is very appropriate - it looks the colour of cookie dough
nme lovely update on BD and great to see your lions and Czar again
bossymoo well done on starting - keep up up to date with progress
firefly Your Christmas blackwork pieces are lovely - I remember that booklet and there were some other nice designs in there as well as the ones you chose
momentsofsanity Your cushion is fabulous. How lovely to be able to share stitching with your daughter
All this discussion about stitching quotes made me decide to dig out my Lizzie Kate cleaning the house piece and make it my first UFO of 2013 to be completed. When I photographed it I realised why it had become a UFO - I have made a mistake which will need to be unpicked and redone

couldsavemore I have been stitching for years and years (not always cross stitch though). My cross stitch interest was rekindled in 1991 when I saw a copy of a new magazine called Needlecraft (I think I bought issue 5) I loved it and although my xs output has varied since then I have always had some pieces on the go Being part of this group had really helped and I'm pleased with what I achieved in 2012 although the list of what I would like to stitch shows no sign of diminishing
maria Love the red deer piece and also the Queen of Procrastination although I don't think you can claim the crown :rotfl::rotfl: There are some other nice charts on that site which I have downloaded
purplecrutches Welcome to the cafe:wave: Looking forward to seeing some photos of your work when you are able to post I love Cinnamon Cat designs
stitcher i don't think there are any right or wrong answers to your questions as we are all different. I like to have a few projects on the go (Works in Progress) at the same time so that there is always one that suits my mood or situation Inevitably some become UFOs but this group has encouraged me to finish some of my UFOs and I intend to do more in 2013
Hi Laura Looking forward to seeing your work when you can post - can you give us a clue e.g. designer, theme?
sweetcarer your letter O is very cute - how many are you stitching?
jcs lovely bookmark; great way to finish the year by completing a UFO
Louise Your family rules are great and I'm sure the finished piece will look wonderful. Thanks for the reminder about 3 1 13
poohpals Welcome to the cafe Which kits do you want to finish - we love details (some might call it being nosy but we have no boundaries when it comes to xs:rotfl:
Enjoy NYE whatever you are doing - even if it is an early night0 -

it depends to me on:
a) how far it needs to run to the next stitch
b) whether there will be stitching in front of it
c) whether you will see it if no stitching in front (e.g. a long thread behind navy would be fine - behind white would be awful.
Ruth_honey you are tooo neat........I was wondering why you stitched the fronts :rotfl: mine are normally terrible..... this latest one I am being a neat freak (think thats why it's taking so long :rotfl:)
Got a headache (thanks boys) so sausage pasta cabanara cooking. hollyoaks marathon and stitchy night.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
Thank you so much for posting Ruth_Honey, it looks so neat compared to mine :rotfl:
I love being able to stitch with my DD, we have been lucky over school hols as we have managed many a happy hour stitching but when I am back at work on Wednesday and she is back doing A levels on Monday I don't suppose we will get much time together
Loving all the designs people are posting, regretting taking a few years off stitching now.
Do you stitch them as gifts for people and if so are they appreciative? I would love to make them for my family but not sure they would appreciate them.
Off to make some spiced parsnip soup with my 9p parsnips but hoping to start the doggies Xstitch before long.0 -
I've got a lot neater over the years. But I do consider myself quite a slow stitcher.
I mainly stitch for myself or my mum (also a stitcher) as I'd hate to spend hours and hours on something and have it wasted on someone who doesn't appreciate it. I did however stitch some tree decs for friends & family this Christmas and I think they went down well. It only took about an hour for each design, though, so not too much time wasted if they didn't appreciate them. Fellow stitchers always appreciate your hard work, so they make good recipients of gifts!Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Happy last day of 2012
Have decided that although internet time does sneak into hours if I'm not careful I do really miss it on here. Have got a new camera and leads at the ready for new projects for a new year (secretly still wading through the welsh chapel but have been knitting scarves for Christmas pressies so have put it away for a few months)
Am loving the procrastination design so that will be another one on the list - going to remake my crafty list tomorrow and then work out which things I want to do first. Frugal year ahead so plenty of staying at home and stitching :TMortgage £119,533 going down slowly

If you can look at the back of the design and see what it's meant to be, that's neat enough, in my opinion. Especially if it's going to be framed..0

The first image is of the frog stitch that my DD's bought me for Mothers Day a couple of years ago....

Welcome to the Cafe Poohspals :hello:
Love procrastination pic maria. :T
Great update of BD nmm.
Was thinking about getting the little cover kit out that I started the other day but I had a glass of Cava with tea and I think the bubbles have gone to my head so perhaps I should have a re-think.
Just in case I'm not on later - HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE
