12/12/12 challenge-[STRIKE]Season's Greeting Newton's Law[/STRIKE] Christmas polar bear-finished on time!
Thanks to all the girls in the Cross Stitch Cafe! You're all fantastic! :A0 -
well my OH's party was a bit more festive than mine and since he arrived home at about 7pm, he has been asleep on the sofa! perhaps something to do with too much beer and very little food...
I came across my box of cross stitch earlier and a wave of excitement hit me. too tired this evening but definitely up for stitching something tomorrow.
Louise those finishes look fab :j
has anyone received any cross stitch xmas gifts yet? I've been naughty and opened the presents I have received so far ! no cross stitch.... yet ..... best gift to date however is the lush xmas gift with lots of lovely lush bits in. :T in particular raining men shower gel and a nice pot of hand/body cream.0 -

Nothing yet.
The only present I've opened was today from my stitchy friend. Well, I say opened, but it wasn't wrapped. It was a cute bracelet, then inside my card was a Boots gift card. To be spent in the 75% off sale, obviously! (which I usually go to with her)
I however have given a stitchy present. I gave her some charts, a clover cutter & some Mikado daim. All went down very well.
Really hoping DH has listened to me when I suggested a subscription to fabric club of the month would make a lovely present...:D
Which Lush hand cream did you get? Used to work there & I miss the staff discount.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Its the Merry Christmas set I got in a sparkly glittery gold box. It contains 100g sunnyside bubble bar, golden wonder bath ballistic, 70g snowcake soap, 45g creme anglaise body moisuturiser and 100g its raining men shower gel.
I haven't bought any lush stuff in AGES so its nice to get some. I used to buy it all the time and spend absolute quids especially as a visit to the shop involved making a special trip/diverting off the motorway to stop off on our way home so I would always buy loads !!!!. olive branch shower gel and tramp shower gel are my favourite but I simply can't justify the price tag when you can get nice shower gel products for a £1 in wilkin$ons.
I've always thought it would be nice to work in lush :T do you miss it? I queued outside my local lush store in the xmas sales 2/3 years back but I didn't get the £100 box - they had all sold the day before if my memory serves me right but they let me in early and I got the winter wonderland box for free after buying two things of shower gel.0 -
my CSC letters 'win'.....28 verigated ANCHOR threads :jloves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0

Morning stitchers. Just back from food shopping and am very wet in spite of having a car. Just the veg from the farm shop this afternoon and the turkey to collect from the local butcher on Xmas Eve then I can start prep and cooking.
Lovely to see and read that some progress is being made with stitching
I realised by Tues that I wouldn't finish Christmas Cheer by 20 12 2012 and anyway I had only left space for 6 numbers as this was originally my 12 12 12 project. So quick change of plan and stitched a heart design which will probably be mounted in a coaster. Photo to follow when I have time :rotfl:
So CC becomes my project to finish over the Xmas break (though I am not off all the time Work is only closed on the bank hols so am working some of the days that others will be off)0 -

On with DO Homes tonight. here's where I'm up to after 3 sittings.
Hoping to get quite a bit done these 2 weeks esp as my kids will be at the childminders for the next 2 fridays, hubby will be at work so I have 8ish hours unbroken stitching time.
Looking good Chicky. I love these dictionary designs. Your homes would be useful for individual designs eg cards as well
Your plans for the Fridays sounds blissful.0 -
Good week from me:
Finished the Meerkat for MIL:
Got 12 Days framed (£29) a black frame was too much for the design and made it seem quite dreary so I went with the gold/green.
Also collected my mums picture from the framer (with corrected swirl!). I thought he had said £56 when I put it in but it was actually only £36!:T:money: The photo honestly doesn't do it justice, it looks amazing with the mount and frame
These all look wonderful. The gold frame is just right for the subject. Your Mum's poem is stunning Great news on the costs of the framing. Very good value0 -
