There was an item on Radio 4 Today programme about "magic numbers" - partly because tomorrow there will be 20.12 20.12.2012
Apparently there has been a glut of magic numbers in 2012 but there aren't many more to come for the rest of the century - there are 68 in total of which tomorrow is the 43rd Of course we cross stitchers were way ahead in knowing this
And if we want to make our 11 12 13 projects really special we should finish them at 14.15. making the date and time 11. 12. 13. 14. 150 -
Thanks for the recipe link, Maria. It was me that was after the butter chicken. Sounds yummy! Might give it a try over new year.
As some of the sales have started now, I popped into town before water aerobics in the hope I'd pick up a bargain in Yours. Been eyeing up a snowflake jumper & some PJ's online, but needed to buy in the shop to use my voucher (annoying! Wish I'd been bought the gift card instead). They didn't have either of the items & although I tried on a few things, nothing was right. Then I popped into Evans. Ordered a nice cardigan from the website yesterday-lovely hubby said to buy it. Will let him give it to me for Valentines as its black with white hearts. Saw two other things l liked in there. A winter-y jumper dress & a cardigan with a gold sparkle into it. Both still too pricey for me, even in the sales though. Why can't my voucher be for there???
Finished mums forever friends stitching yesterday & eventually managed to find the bag of flexi hoops to frame it. Then I did a bit more on the Christmas abc sampler. Am so behind on that, but hoping I'll make up time on the smaller letters. Might get chance to do a couple of hours on it later.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Wondering if it is a good sign when the company you have an interview with leaves a message on your phone to call them back. Hubby got that call when he came in tonight but too late to call them back.
sweetcarer:j cross stitch forever, housework whenever :j0 -
Sweetcarer - fingers crossed it's good news.
Finished MP Cottage and DH has framed it for me. I have tried to take a piccy but I keep getting damned reflections in the glass. Will wait until daylight tomorrow.
Take care everyone and try to stay dry.

Good evening all, hope you have all had a great day and got some stitching done.
Do any of you cross stitches use a magnifying light to do the cross stitch and if so would you recommend them. I am struggling to see in the artificial light :rotfl:0 -
Just popping in to mention an amazing facebook group sweetcarer found and pointed me in the direction of.
Xstitch for those impacted by the Sandy Hook Elementary school shooting
it's really hit home to me as DS1 is not much younger then the poor children who lost their lives.
We're both signing up to stitch a few squares - you can dedicate them to specific children/ adults or just wereever the designer feels they best fit.
There is no minimum/ maximum amount you can 'donate'.
they have lots of free designs that artists have donated for use.
rules
Material- 14ct aida- all will be accepted, we prefer to keep the size of the stitch uniform.
Colors for the aida:
cream
white
pastels
please refrain from using any dark colors
Sizes: 7x7 and 9x9 stitching space- overall size should be 10x10 or 12x12 stitching needs to fit within these dimensions- sorry for any confusion and hope this clarifies
Signature- please put your name or initials, whichever you are most comfortable with and where you are from. This can be anywhere on the piece. Just please make sure to leave enough room on the border for the piece to be made into a quilting block
Time frame- right now we are thinking about a deadline for August, but this could change depending on everyones status.
If you aren't on facebook then let me know you are interested and I will post on your behalf.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0
