And if we want to make our 11 12 13 projects really special we should finish them at 14.15. making the date and time 11. 12. 13. 14. 15
Oh  that makes my head hurt :rotfl::rotfl:

I do intend to stitch something to finish on this day. I just haven't decided what yet.

So I am sat here in my party dress at breakfast time as its the office xmas party today :xmassmile its a good job I decided to change my bra because I've now fathomed that the dress doesn't have the fancy front I thought it did - its the back of the dress and I hadn't done the button up. :rotfl: so thankfully I've realised I was wearing the dress back to front before I got to work and had it pointed out to me  I'm not sure if first time round whether I had it on wrong but I definitely did the second time I put it on !!

Have to say I'm nervous about the party as it is starting early (12) and I really do not want to be home in bed by 5pm having drunk too much so I think I'm going to stick to the non alcoholic drinks and have a stronger drink when I get home and dig the cross stitch out :j Merry Christmas all :xmastree:

too tired to catch up properly now so will have a proper read tomorrow/saturday. I'm excited to see talk of slow cookers.... I won one in an xmas raffle so an early xmas pressie :j and can't wait to find recipes and use it :T

Have also started to receive xmas money - £40 so far :T and tempted to treat myself to something from sew and so but I don't need anything and I've left it a bit late to guarantee xmas delivery.... They don't appear to have had much new stuff recently :( and their whats new page click here seems to have vanished in honour of their xmas delivery - order by friday 3pm message....

Can you wait until their January sale? They had some great bargains last year :D
  • flat Eric I love the thought of you eating your cornflakes all dressed up in you party dress, how glam and I'm glad you have it on round the right way this time lol

  • Good evening all, hope you have all had a great day and got some stitching done.

Do any of you cross stitches use a magnifying light to do the cross stitch and if so would you recommend them. I am struggling to see in the artificial light :rotfl:

I use a magnifier attached to a directional lamp and it is invaluable. I wouldn't be able to stitch on evenweave by artificial light if I didn't have these "helpers" for my old eyes.
I would recommend trying different types - Hobbycraft usually have a selection as do some branches of John Lewis. Or if you can get to a craft show in the new year then there are always exhibitors. Some people prefer daylight bulbs, others like halogen or led - that's why it's best to check if you can.

    Hi ladies.

Ejs. Nice progress pics, love them both. Hope your HR settles down and you can enjoy xmas without worrying about it.

JCS. Look forward to seeing the pic of completed cat.

BEG. Look forward to seeing a completed pic of your finished MP cottage.

No stitching done here for a couple of days as hubby is home using holidays up so have been either out and about or just mooching about at home. Have watched a couple of really good films, Ted and Loopers. I thought I might get my stitching out if they were boring but they were both very good.

We went out to Ikea yesterday. I love that shop, it has things I didn't know I needed until I see them :rotfl:
I bought a lamp that I can clip to my stand and stitch using that rather than have the ceiling halogen spotlight on above me. I like the ceiling light, it's brilliant, but it seems a bit harsh when I have a headache threatening. Up to now I have been using a light intended for book reading :D

Reading the chat about slow cookers makes me determined to use mine next year! I have had one for a few years and it's never been switched on :o
:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:

:rotfl: well I survived the party (drink damage was 4 drinks over the course of the afternoon) its gets to that point where once you have had a couple, you feel like saying sod it .... (especially when they are being bought for you) but I didn't want to ruin my first day of leave hungover so I'm home now in my pjs shortly to have a big bowl of chips. :T starving even after having a lovely 3 course lunch but that was at lunchtime! yes dress disaster avoided but noticed late afternoon that I had my pants on inside out :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: the perils of dressing in the dark so early in the morning....
  • ha ha ha ha flat Eric that did make me chuckle. I really fancy a drink tonight, but got to drive ds to football tomorrow so I can't :(

    Good week from me:

    Finished the Meerkat for MIL:

Got 12 Days framed (£29) a black frame was too much for the design and made it seem quite dreary so I went with the gold/green.

    December2012012.jpg

Also collected my mums picture from the framer (with corrected swirl!). I thought he had said £56 when I put it in but it was actually only £36!:T:money: The photo honestly doesn't do it justice, it looks amazing with the mount and frame
