Thanks JCS1 I might take you up on that for my next square x
I'm just about to get to sleep
I found my mojo. Since I posted earlier I have sorted fabric, threads, charted my own design for the quilt square and began stitching at 2amIt sounds a bit rushed but there is a lot of thought going in as I go along.

well I've been watching the clock since 2.30am and have now given up trying to sleep
hope this is a one off.
One thing that is on my mind is the news reports from the train companies advising people not to travel. How are people meant to get home for xmas (including my sister). how can they tell people not to travel unless *essential*. part of the line my sister needs to travel on is closed but she has paid for her ticket/travel is booked/specific train etc. Not sure what happens if they cancel the train - guess they refund but then that leaves her stuck. I know there are many others in the same situation. The weather we have had has been exceptional and it can't be helped but it is a tad worrying/frustrating/upsetting that my sister could be stranded for xmas.
in other news, due my food shop today so need to juggle freezer contents and move stuff so that I can fit the shopping in but will need to wait till its light/the world are awake as chest freezer out in garage.
I had a look through some of my cross stitch projects last night and haven't found anything that I fancy stitching/starting but have another box of bits so will nose through this later. I think I may end up stitching my row of cats design. I've done two cats already (a couple of xmases ago). Just need to decide whether I do the backstitch as I finish each cat or wait till all cats are stitched??? Thoughts ?

Good Morning
Its early!
Upstairs decided to have a hammer session about 3 am so been half awake ever since - so got up 10 mins ago as I need anyway for work - usually wake 630 for work. Hope I am ok for work feel tired - guess get a cuppa down me and I will be fine.
Someone asked the question about designs for the big quilt - here is a questions some one asked -
Are Precious Moments, Hummels, Care Babies, Disney Princesess okay or do we need permission from designers? Also I was wondering if Lighthouses and beach scenes would be appropriate too. Living in W. MI lighthouses are of great significance and well beach scenes are just plain fun for children sometimes.
Answers were- I don't think we need any permission as these will be given as gifts. So not really any different than if you were stitching it to give to a friend or family member.
- All our patterns come from a designer, famous names or not. I do believe we can stitch them and give them away. I do it all the time every time I give a present to a friend.
- You would be allowed to stitch them to give as a gift to a friend or family member, so stitching them for charity is absolutely fine. Designers only get antsy when you try to sell your stitched pieces of their designs for personal gain, or if you start copying the charts to pass around or to sell them on.
- yes we can stitch any design for charity or give away but cannot scan and send said design by any means nor can we sell copies of the design or give copies away
Hope that helps!
Better go and get something to eat and get to work - helping another department out today - made some millionaires shortbread as a wee "pick me up" for a tea break.
Keep well everyone

Morning. I woul do the back stitch on each cat as you go as I think it will look more finished. I don't like back stitch so the thought of having loads to do at the end would result in a UFO for me
Hope your sister is able to get home for Xmas. Does she have to return by a set date or would she be ok if her return was delayed?0 -

Here is Jemima all framed and ready to be wrapped up for Mum.
Here are 4 out of 5 coasters ready for my Christmas table. Wish now that I had done 5 of the NOEL ones as they were easy to stitch and look lovely on the sparkly fabric. No-one will probably even notice them though but I know they are there.
Hope everyone has a great Christmas and thanks for a great supportive year.

Hi ladies.
Chicky. Nice progress on DOH. Very nice win too!
Louise. Very nice framed pieces, they are lovely, especially your parents 'song'. The Meercat made meHave you (or anyone else for that matter) seen the Meercat ads during Corrie? They are quite entertaining!
JCS. The quilt square is lovely and as has been said, very appropriate.
FE. I agree with FOS and would do the backstitch on each cat as I went along. As a rule I don't mind backstitch but on a design like yours I would think of it as finishing lots of small designs that make one big one IYKWIM?
Brednall. Lovely Jemima, I'm sure your Mum will love it! Lovely coasters too, nice work.
Incase I don't get online again before Christmas Day I'd like to say now that I wish all of you and your families a lovely Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year that's full of stitching!!
love to all

FE - I think I would be tempted to bs after stitching each cat. Looking good btw.
JCS1 - your square is lovely and so appropriate.
brednall - I'm sure your Mum will love Jemima and your coasters are great. Love the sparkly aida.
maria - good luck with the wings.
Made a reasonable attempt at catching up on housework today - more or less just got the steam mop to run over the dining room and kitchen.
So much for watching Strictly last night - I saw little Dani and Vincent getting kicked off and then fell asleep. I wasn't really expecting that result though - might of had something to do with Louis getting his top off :rotfl::rotfl:
DH has just handed me a sewing needle he found in the carpet - don't know where that could have come from
Take care of yourselves if you're dashing around tomorrow.
