We've got so much to do around the house, and I want to put up the tree this year (I think the past 2 years-maybe even 3, I haven't bothered to for various reasons) but I need to rearrange the living room a bit and then get into the garage, which is choc-a-block full of 'stuff' to dig out all the xmas decs. Can't a magic fairy come and do it all while I sleep???
Ruth_honey -We're off to Harrogate - really looking forward to it now :j.
chicky - lovely update. Finish this weekend???:D
My stitching update - made a proper start now with MP Cottage ie cut fabric and started to stitch - mainly done white on white stuff atm so things have been a bit slow.
Off to gym shortly for an hour (I like to get it over and done with) and then got a bit of shopping to do.
Hope you all stay well and have a lovely weekend.

maybe B_E_G I seem to be on a roll.
Was hoping to stay in the warm today but if I do that then we have no roast for dinner tomorrowHas anyone done a joint of beef in the slow cooker?? Hubby has finally agreed to have beef so long as it isn't "tough and rubbery" so I thought this would be the best way to do it.
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
Haven't made any progress this week on any of the Project 12 pieces but I have finished the last of the Shepherd's Bush stockings (for this year) and also cut out the lining, backing, wadding and binding strips for the final Lizzie Kate stocking so the end is in sight for the Christmas stockings :j
Here is the front of the finished Shepherd's Bush stocking complete with charms, buttons and ribbons.

And this photo shows the lining and backing fabric - back is navy with green holly leaves and lining is cream with green holly leaves.

Hope everyone manages to get some stitching time - not easy at this time of year0 -

I've only cooked braising and stewing steak in the slow cooker and am not sure that a roasting joint would work. I use Delia Smith's method for roast beef (my Dad's favourite) - that plus buying really good meat from a local butcher means that it always seems to turn out well.0 -

I love the fact that if you don't have a points card there's only 1 alternative - you can give em to someone else!!!
Thanks Ruth_honey
Just thought I'd post another pic now I've done some backlstitch - it's looking much better I think.
This is now looking really good.0 -

I'm a bit gutted
I almost completed my Project 12 yesterday, just left the 'C' to complete on the 12th Dec.
I was feeling quite pleased....so imagine my horror when I realised the pen marks could still be seen!

(Photobucket wasn't working so had to use flikr)
Now this is the same pen I have used for projects all year, so I was really confused about why this happened.
The fabric isn't a cheap one - I got it from Hobbycraft, it's the thicker evenweave, which I also used for the medieval lady earlier this year (with the same pen on it), so I ruled out that as well.
The ONLY thing I can think of that I have done differently, is that instead of just rinsing off the pen under the tap, this time I filled the sink, added some washing powder and washed it in there....I can only assume the powder must have 'set' the pen??
I am so annoyed at the moment, it's put me right off stitching.
I have tried soaking it, spraying with vanish, and it's even been through the washing machine, the marks are still there. Going to buy some vanish soap but my hopes aren't highCross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Aw Louise, really hope the Vanish works, such a shame to have put all that work in and the piece be ruined. I would be sending emails to the pen supplier as well....xx;)I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY;)0

Oh no Louise, thats terrible! So frustrating! I don't know what to suggest other than I think I remember someone saying something about lemon for getting marks off might be worth a Google13 in 2013 challenge 9/130
