I don't think i'm getting much say in my christmas pressies this year. hubby asked if he could take £30 out the account to buy something he'd seen for me the other day.
my sister isn't buying. my mum and dad normally both do 'family money' which will go in our holiday fund.
his family will ask then get what they want anyway.
but just incase santa is on pinterest. linkyloves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
Hi ladies.caroline78 wrote: »So Tuesday will hopefully be spent stitching. I don't know, maybe it is just me, but can the rest of you stitch when you know you should be cleaning....xx
It's not just you. I can't settle to stitching if I know things need to be done. As there's only the two of us here it's easy to keep on top of things daily and whatever needs to be done get's done as soon as I get up then I know the rest of the day is mine.
Skoobie. Hope your mouth isn't too painful and you feel better soon.
Chicky. Nice update. I agree with Ruth, I think as stitchers we can't help but be critical about our own work. A non-stitcher wouldn't see the holes unless they were pointed out.
My design at the moment is the same as your stocking one, some holes are bigger than others even though they have had a needle passed through them the same amount of times. I even changed to a smaller needle but it's still happening.
FOS. Nice stocking! Love the fabrics used for the backing and lining, very festive.
Louise. Very pleased to read the pen stains came out!
Firefly. Nice birth sampler update.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
louise so glad the marks came out, i know from experience how you were feeling when it happened

thanks girlies - i think the backstitch helps to disguise them/ tighten up the fabric.
It's not babar but does look like him. He's one of the littlestar stitches characters. "peanut"loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
I have just stuck the beef on chicky (well at 3pm) after panicking that it would turn into a disaster ... took it out the freezer yesterday morning. been in the fridge defrosting for 24 hours and its still half frozen ! so its been in a bowl on the kitchen side all day where I have been keeping my fingers crossed that (1) it will defrost and (2) my cat nor the visitor cat will get it ! Hopefully I will get all my timings right and dinner will turn out ok !
I've noticed the grand prix is on at 5pm ish until gone 10pm  oh well, an excuse to stitch I suppose :j0 -
fingers crossed flat eric my chicken has just gone in too.
OMG I was pessimistic about this flora cuisine (squirty butter) but its same price as buying a tub/ block of it at the mo in Asda (£1 for 500g IIRC) and it makes everything soooo much easier.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -

Casper - looking forward to seeing your update piccies. There are some instructions for posting pics on Page 1 courtesy of chicky. Hth
Made a little progress on MP Cottage - but all I seem to have been doing is changing the threads over - did you find that Louise??
Maybe with it being just a little design.

Noticed my Mum's neighbour has their xmas decs up. Will aim to do ours maybe 1 - 2 weeks before 25th. DH would quite happily leave it til 24th Dec and take them back down on 26th.
We are having salmon for tea with salad and coleslaw. Looking forward to Strictly and XFactor. I think it might be either Victoria or Richard to go on Strictly and I would like to think that Rylan went home tonight (apologies to any Rylan fans in the Cafe).
Have a good evening everyone.

In the meantime, I thought I would ask everyone what they wanted for xmas? I can never make up my mind and think the stock answer this year is going to be ama$on vouchers or vouchers for sew and so (not that I need any more stitchy stash!).
All I would like is some perfume (as I have run out nearly) and some slipppers as the ones I have got holes in them.It looks like my neighbour has her :xmastree: up as I can see what look like tree lights but I don't think they are. I have to say I don't actually feel very christmassy and would quite happily press the fast forward button to January 1st ! bah humbug me ! :rotfl:

Don't have have our tree up - not had one up for a couple of years as Sam would just drag it down. Might put up some lights in the window.
Perfect roasts mmmmm. I have been cheating with roasts by making what nigella calls roastinys. Fried nochi (italian potato dumplings). They are quite nice and only 66p for a pack in A$da and it does us twice.
Glad to be home work was so tough going - glad tomorrow will be a normal work day. Then on I am off for two days at end of week. Hubby is American so I make a wee thanksgiving dinner for him - turkey (loads of trimmings) and pumpkin pie.
Still got to sort Avon stuff out - might do it when I am off - still gives people more than a week to look at it before Christmas orders have to be in. Making up a wee order pack - newsletter with the major offers in it, an order form and a free tea bag. The tea bag - well they can have a cup of tea while they browse the book.
Looks like it will be cold again - so wrap up warm and cuddle into someone nice - but not my hubby hes mine lol.
Kind wishes to all
