FOS Its a case of needs must - we have to get some more money in - hubby is trying but nothing is moving. Will get him to help me - he can pack up orders for me.

Sorry to hear some people have downs with stuff. That is the great thing about in here - we have all become a great wee support network for each other - so thank you each one of you.

Hubby bless him found a piece of aida in a charity shop - quite a big bit but it had some damp spots so he bleached it and then put in in washing machine to wash it - it came out with two holes in it. Was quite a big bit - about 24inch by 40inch - only got it for £3. Will cut away from the holes and see what I can salvage - he wanted to have it clean and ready to show me. Bless.

Oh well better check on facebook and might even get on with some of purple work. Downloaded some new black work projects I found for free but these use colours - it is for the seasons they are only about 2" x 3".

    Kind wishes to all

sweetcarer - have you seen the designated avon thread on here ??? I've bought avon in the past - will have a think and let you know if I have any thoughts from a customer's point of view.
  • 23rd - Sorry to hear about all your troubles. Made me stop feeling sorry for myself:o I hope things pick up for you soon.

Sweetcarer - Awww, you hubby sounds lovely:)

Louise - That sounds very painful. Sounds like a great excuse to pull a sicky and sit on you butt all day stitching and watching daytime tv.....

Lovely updates Ladies. I am still stitching Christmas cards and then hope to make them all up next week.

Hugs to Flat Eric and all the ladies going through a tough time at the moment.

Ellie - glad you got on ok with your scan yesterday. When do you get the results? I went to the NEC it was really good, but very busy. Spent lots and haven't regretted buying anything so can say it was a good show.

Catwoman - sorry if I've missed it but what's the finished design of your lovely piece that you are doing, the colours are lovely on the black aida.

Flowers - your Stitch upon a Star is really sweet, is it for you? I had a look at the link to Blacksheep and very nearly bought a kit from them but had a look and sewcafe.co.uk have the kit at a similar price but with free postage and I had a 5% off voucher given to me at the show. May see how funds are at the end of the month and is still tempted may invest. Your 12 days is coming along really quickly.

Louise - sorry to hear about your leg. Does this mean that you have been told to out your feet up and do lots of stitching!!!

nmm - it was me who mentioned the westie alphabet but have to be honest and say that with the nest will in the world I need to forget about adding anything else to my "to do" list for Christmas. Will think about it for MIL's birthday which isn't until August. Glad things are looking up for Tikaani.

23rd - sorry things are rough at the moment. Sending hugs your way.

Sweetcarer - hope the Avon job works out well for you. My friends daughter did it for quite some time and I know she made some good money from it.

Had an email back from Dream Works regarding the fabric and they are going to send me out a larger piece. Will let you know when I get it, still not convinced as it's got to come from USA and I'm not sure they realised that I was in the UK when they said they'd send me another piece. If they do send it then it's very good service.

Started my tree of stitches for my sister and BIL last night. Have finished the cross stitch trunk, the French knot and smyrna sections and about half way through the eyelet section. Will try to post a picture later in the week.

Not sure if I mentioned it but I am working as a Poll Clerk on Thursday for the Police Commissioner elections. Need to be in at 6.30 and won't get back until about 10.45. Everyone things it's going to be really quiet so I'm going to take some cross stitch and knitting with me. Any luck I'll be paid for doing something I would be doing if I were sat at home.

Off to bed now - night all.

Everyones stitching is wonderful, love all the finished/framed pieces. Sorry can't remember who mentioned the scottie ABC i posted but it was from the mag issue that you mentioned in an earlier post (will check back and see if i can find it)

**OT** Tikaani is doing really well no seizures in 13 days, so either the medication is working or the trigger factor has gone. We think the trigger may have been her teething and they have all come through now so fingers crossed it was :)

It was me - I was asking which Issue the alphabet came out of!! Thank you for letting me know. Funny how your mind plays tricks on you as I would have sworn blind that I'd not seen those designs before! I must have too many mags back in the UK and clearly I still have 'BabyBrain' after 12 months (BabyF's 1st birthday today - but she's poorly and has been up nearly every half hour through the night). Must make efforts to strain the grey-matter!

Keeping my fingers crossed for Tikaani - hope her good health continues.

Hugs to all that need them - hope you all have a good day today (just think, at least today is half way to the weekend!)

    Xx

  • glad Tiki is feeling better nmm.

I should be at work but cold n flu tablets just aren't cutting it and after an hour and a half I came home.

Might go and curl up in bed with my stitching as the kids just don't accept 'sick' as a good reason for not reponsing to their every whim (despite hubby being at home as it's his normal day off) Have put Polar Express on but they just aren't interested.
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:

    Hey ladies,

No stitching last night :( Had a lovely meal and catch up with a ex work collegue.

Louise - Love your Christmas crafts :xmastree:

FOS - Can't wait to see stitcher's 12 days come together.

23rd - Sorry to hear about your friend and not sure what to suggest either, apart from just let her get on with it. If you need volunteers to go round and give her a slap, I'm in :D

Ailsb - Hope you get lots of stitching done tomorrow night!

I started a new kit while baby sitting at the weekend, this one. My mum bought it in the US for me, for $5! I can't believe the prices they get away with charging over here :rotfl:

I put it in my signature instead of one of the other designs I'd planned to do. I think that one would have been too big to finish anyway as we're getting awfully close now!

Bad idea to look at Sew and So! I'm still sticking to me no stitchy spends this month, just!

I was actually pricing up the fabric for my HAED I'm going to start after Christmas  to those who've done one, or are doing; Is anyone stitching over 1 on 25ct like they suggest? I'm thinking about trying it... I must be mad :D Even if I do, I'll still need 18 skeins of black for the design... 18!!!!!! Itching to get started but need to resist until after Christmas :A

PS feel better soon Chicky :grouphug:

I thought about 1 over 1 on 25 count but my eyesight isn't up to it. So I got some pregridded 18 count aida. The guidelines have been absolutely fabulous so far - there would have been many mistakes without them. (There have still been a few but shhhh, only I know they're there!)

I bought the recommended threads and I knew I'd probably need some more because I'm stitching on larger count fabric, but even so - I've done 2 1/2 pages out of 36 and already used 2 skeins of black. The pattern said only 8 were needed for the whole thing. I think not!

Mind you, it's going to take so long to finish that I think I'll just buy them as I go along. Anything left over can go back in the stash.
  • Hi all,

Not been on her for a few days due to family stuff. Hope everyone is well and managing to get some stitching done.
I've not managed to get much done this week but intend to this afternoon.

I'll have a read through the posts later and see what l have missed.

Hope you all have a good day
