Had a good day shopping! Was dreading it after Tuesday's day of hell, but it was nowhere near as bad.
I got the game I was after for my hubby (desperate to buy after I saw on Grabbit board that it was 1/2 price) after spotting it in a bin of stock to go out-shelf was empty so thought they'd sold out. Then I got us both cheesy Christmas jumpers in Primark-£12 each. Wanted one for ages, but finding plus size at a good price for this kind of thing is almost impossible. Got men's XXL for me & was happy it fitted. Just as well I'm not small enough to wear their pjs because they had some lovely nightwear. Would've spent the entire winter wearing pjs or onesies.
Also got some xmas plastic tumblers to make up pots of gold (although mine might turn into pots of Christmas) in poundland. So, very pleased with my haul.
Oh, had a very quick play with a kindle fire today, Louise, but I wasn't that impressed. I think reading on a normal kindle would be far easier on the eyes.
Local fireworks display is on tonight & hoping Blossom won't get too stressed about all the noises. Cooking bangers & mash for tea. Yum yum. What's everyone else having?
I'm having chilli beef pizza from Mr T followed by chocolate brownie cheesecake and single cream! plus a malibu and coke and may be a glass of wine !!!! very naughty but my little treat !!
I'm not doing any cross stitch at the moment - after looking at numerous scarfs and snoods in the shops today, I'm back to knitting a scarf with the wool that changes colour as you go along. (can't remember the name).
ahh I forgot it was firework night tonight. It is cold wet and dismal where I am - I don't think me and the cat will be leaving the house. I am quite happy sat on the sofa with my knitting. the cat is quite happy sat by the radiator !
ps although my trip to the shops was short and sweet (far too busy for my liking) - it was very productiveI am very pleased with the fingerless gloves that I picked up from the reduced shelf in b00ts for just £3 :j My bargain of the day.

Awww...give him a tickle behind the ears from me. Huggles to all the other pets tonight, too. Hope all the fireworks don't spook them.
Sweetcarer, try not to let life stress you, honey. I know it's easier said than done, but worrying isn't going to change anything, and it's only going to make you ill. Your stitching is looking brilliant. So intricate & pretty.
Love Ruby's stocking, too. That fabric is perfect for it. I bet you can hardly wait til Christmas to give it to her.
Brr! Chilly here tonight. Blossom has the right idea & is in her radiator bed.
Eta: enjoying a winter cider. Apple, cinnamon & vanilla flavour. On offer in Lidl-3 bottles for £5. Can be drunk hot or cold. Quite tasty...Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Thought I would share a pic of my ladybird slippers :rotfl: that I bought today. Also pictured are the Animal gloves I bought (bargain at £3) plus a pic of the scarf I am knitting....
In the top corner of the pic, you can just see some ribbon. This is to wrap round some of my xmas gifts where I'm including a scratch card!!0 -
We've just eaten M&S Haddock (lightly dusted) with salad and creamy coleslaw (the haddock was whoopsied so that made the taste even better
). Now having a cuppa and a dime bar
).
Decided not to stitch this evening - will settle down and watch Strictly and XFactor.
sweetcarer - still loving your purplework. Try not to worry too much over things but I know that is easier said than done.
Ruth_honey - sounds as though you've had a productive day.
FE - chocolate brownie cheesecake with cream - sounds delish
Right Strictly it is now
