I'll stick with my poundshop chocolate advent calendars. And my mini tree advent 'thing' with a different ornament to hang on it every day.

  • evening all.

chicky do you have a material shop near you at all, i love ours i just wander around touching all the fabric, i think they think i need some sort of sectioning i do it so oftern, another thing you could do is look in charity shops sometimes they have lengths of material, or you could look in them for all bed covers, pillow cases, table cloths ect and cut them up, would work out cheeper you could go for xmas colours rather than xmas prints and then cross stitch some little designs on it. or i can have a looksie in my shop for you and see what they have,

sorry eric, i cant really help you out with your asda question to make things cheeper you could buy all the componants of a gift set seperatly and wrap them together normally works out cheeper to do it that way

think i'll give that one a miss eric how rediculous is that price!!!

Mrsm - Glad you have sorted it

picture time, so i finished my magazine trees think i may have got slightly carried away as we now have 6, found the spray glue i needed in the pound shop, so didnt have to pay £8 in hobby craft and i have covered them in glitter

and here are some piccies of little bits i have done over the last 2 days

Made a little bit of progress on Boofle tonight. First time I have used perlescent thread (seems strange but looks ok) and satin thread. :o

Sorted frame out for LK 'Tis the Season' - actually a picture from £shop (but we wont tell anyone will we ;)) and DH framed it for me yesterday while I was out. Will try and post a piccy over the weekend.

Hope you all have a great weekend

Hi, sorry really quick post to answer qus. Will catch up properly when it's not 12:36 am!

Re long socks... Poundland, 99p stores are great. I've been wearing cheap stripy long socks with boots for a decade or so and they do last. I now (since May) also play sport (!!!!) and long socks, brighter the better, are a must for this rather unusual sport. Primark is ok too, though check the length, i once bought a pack of Knee High and they barely got past my calves! If its particular colours you're looking for there's a great eBay shop, if I can remember its name...

    Re Xmas fabric
. I buy the "Xmas remanant bundles" From Strawberry Fair patchwork shop (sorry cant link). Lady is lovely. Those bundles have lots of different, all Xmas prints, and about A4 size each... Perfect for table runners and cushions etc.
If u want bigger bits, try Fabric Land. Their website is unusual, (eg, loud, glittery and oddly formatted - when scrolling over 6 pgs of prints, check the pg number you are on, as pg 4 is often skipped over!), but they are great on the phone. If they don't have a seasonal tab, look under 'poly prints' and 'printed cottons'. I've bought quite a bit from them before and find them good quality and good on the phone. Postage is best checked by phoning though.
Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. Frugal Living Challenger. No buying cleaning products. I used MSE advice to reduce my car insurance from 550 to 325!! & paid it off in full!!!

Blimey - for a bit of fancy Cardboard. I would want it to at least dance for me at that price.:rotfl:

I treated [STRIKE] us [/STRIKE] myself to a lovely one last Christmas. It was expensive but it looks great and will last for years.

Sorted frame out for LK 'Tis the Season' - actually a picture from £shop (but we wont tell anyone will we ;))

:silenced::silenced::silenced: It's not how much it cost....it's what you do with it :D

Maria - You have been really busy again! Some lovely makes there:T

I haven't touched Project 12 since Sunday, far too busy :( I am also probably, definitely going to get roped in to doing a craft fair at the kids' school next month, so I am going to be very busy with preparing for that.
I really do need to get a shift on with my mums present as well though, I'm not going to be leaving myself much time.
