the little kits i used for this were 3 for £3 in hobby craft so this is the 3rd one, but they had loads of different ones
Maria these are cute, love the bird one. I have the gingerbread men * 4, a bird and a meerkat (mum's *rollseyes* :rotfl:) all for the xmas tree :T Need to get on and stitch them!0 -
Thanks pap, they only took about an hour to stitch up, so really quick to do as well13 in 2013 challenge 9/130

Hello stitchers
Maria You have been busy - love everything but especially the scissor keepers as I have a bit of a thing for these - my sewing lamp is festooned with them
The kits were a great bargain as well
chicky I also recommend going to your local fabric shop - there is nothing quite like being able to see and feel the fabric before you buy. But I do think that the patchwork effect fabric is a brilliant idea and will save you time which is important if you are stitching for Christmas gifts
Louise I love the wooden advent calendar display
I didn't have a lot of time for stitching in the week but I did manage to finish Ruby's stocking so that is safely packed away in tissue paper until December
Here is the back of the stocking - I was delighted with how well this fabric matches the design. I used the same fabric for the lining and the binding

Here is the front of the stocking. You can't really see in the photo but the fabric is cream and gold and some of the threads also have lurex in them so it really sparkles

World of Cross Stitching has arrived so planning a nice afternoon going through that interspersed with a bit of gentle stitching
Hope everyone has a good weekend0 -

Yes, I did one gingerbread man already, took just over an hourHoping to finish my cards over the weekend/monday (as I am working) then stitch up all the gingerbread men :T They are better quality and much nicer designs then the old hobbycraft mini stitches.

WOCS arrived today - after a quick flick through all I can say is - meh.
Cross Stitch Heaven order not arrived today.
maria - love the little stitches.
chicky - good luck in fabric shop. Saw some bundles of xmas fabric (fat quarters I think) in Boyes this morning but I think they were quite pricey.
Hope you all manage some stitching this weekend.

pppfffftttt. won't be going in that fabric shop again. It's tiny and you can only JUST fit a biggy round it...............plus.............NO christmas fabrics AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! infact not even a sniff of christmas.
Also went to Mr M..... debated between a new DVD player (£19) for kids old crt tv as the inbuilt DVD but has gone or a new 16" all singing all dancing lcd TV @ £79.
waited 3 or 4 mins for the customer service assistants at the desk to acknowledge me - before eventually just asking them. All I wanted to know was if I needed to take the empty box on shelf to the till or if they had to fetch one or what they wanted me to do.
After 5 minutes of waiting for the person they were calling not to come to the checkout they both walked off.
Then one came back and asked what I wanted again the 16" or 19" and walked off again.
Then they came back and said they didn't have any. I asked if they were getting any in - "no idea, deliveries are saturday pm and Wednesday". - well today is Saturday so are you getting some today" - "don't know till they get here".
So DVD player it was!!! GRRRRRR. When I used to work at Mr B we could easily see on systems what's been ordered and when it is due - so I find it hard to believe they couldn't find out............ or offered me the one that obviously went in the empty box.
On the plus side I did treat myself to Cross-stitcher magazine as I loved the reindeer cards. Just gonna make a cuppa and I'll post a review.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0
