Sweetcarer. Well done on your Highly Commended! Also I think your 'burger' cupcakes look delicious!

Chicky. That's a very good idea, hadn't thought of that. Better than the perspex idea I think because after I posted I realised that if a whole glass of something got knocked over the liquid is likely to run underneath the perspex and ruin the placemats anyway.

    PAP. Love London, very nice!
:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:

  • oh forgot to say i did finish my 10/11/12 challenge as well, which was a scissor keeper but i did it on even weave and when i sewed it up on the sewing machine and trimmed it down it frayed to much and fell apart. ha ha, i think i needed to leave a bigger edge next time, still you live and learn, so will start that one again at some point

  • caroline - lovely wedding pics. My exchange card is stitched - just awaiting making up ;)

I cannot decide re round robin - still in the debating stage. I would like to take part but have a few concerns flying around in my head at the moment. :o

sweetcarer - congratulations on your 'highly commended'. Those buns look lovely - would love one to go with my 3 o'clock later. :p

pap - woo hoo - you've done it. London looks great - bet you can't wait to get it on your wall.

maria - great pics. Tree skirt looks lovely. Your 'hands' cushion is a smashing idea - especially when the little ones can see how their hands have grown. I think I have the heart design in a 'to do' list -somewhere. Bet your daughter will love all of her cushions. Good luck with your next attempt with the scissor keep.

DH has decided to paint bathroom so I decided to give the kitchen a bit of a deepish clean. Might get some stitching done tonight to - should get well on with 10/11/12 (fingers crossed).

Thought I would have a go at knitting this afternoon. Ordered some wool which arrived in the week. I'm using 15mm needles, (that's what the wool asks for) (a scarf was the intended end item) but I've unpicked it and put it away for now ! as I was struggling to get the knitting from one needle to the next. Think the knitting tension was too tight (for want of a better expression?) which was why it was such a faff trying to knit it/move the stitches up the needle ready to be "knitted"!

Back to the cross stitch me thinks!

My thoughts/questions on the Round Robin

    - Do we have a seperate thread for it?
I agree with Chicky that it should maybe be included in here, once it is up and running there shouldn't be too many enquiry posts so we shouldn't take over the chat...lol

    - Is there one person who wants to be in charge of the plan? Heading up the thread, encouraging the exchanges etc.
I don't mind doing it, if no one else wants too...

    - How many people is it ideal to have?

    - If we have lots, do we split people into groups or do we just choose smaller designs and do more of them?

I think after reading the quilt thread that we should limit it to regular visitors to this thread. I know that might offend some newcomers but think it might be for the best

    - Do we do the change over every month, very second month or longer? (I guess that depends on the size of the squares)

I think a month would be ideal but understand other people have more commitments that me so whatabout every 6 weeks...

    - What sort of size squares are we looking at?
    About 5" I think ?

    - Do we pick our own designs and send charts or do we let people choose their own?
(For myself, I like the idea of 'squaring' the fabric, picking a theme and letting people stitch what they prefer...I want it to look like a mishmas of ideas and styles, others prefer everything to be matching.)

I like this idea as well

-Is it okay to post monthly pics that we have stitched for the othrs - I don't think I can wait a year or whatever to see mine!!:o

    Pictures are a must !!

-Do we do the first square ourselves, to show an example of our theme, or the last one when we get it back and finish it?

I think the first one should be our own work

    - Are people going to sign with their name and location? (I hope everyone does want this tbh)

I think even initials and location

Never done one of these before so any input from those who have is appreciated :D

i'd like to do the round robin but after the quilt square sadly I'll have to bow out. I think you'll have to use this thread so m0ds don't get wind of address sharing (i know we got special permission for the quilt square to have a thread)

If we restricted who could join would you be interested ??

    My comments are in red....xx
    ;)I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY;)

    Good point.

23rd - that was a very discreet explanation of the fiasco :T
I feel sad remembering it all again. I still have my square here....I had held off posting it when things started to go wrong. :(

Pap - London looks fantastic, well worth the hard work, look forward to seeing it framed :)

Sweetcarer - Congratulations on your highly commended result :j

Maria - Cushions are brilliant!! You have been so busy lately :D:D

aneres - Good luck with all those HAEDs...the 'Dreams' one looks like it will be a nightmare to stitch :eek:

Regarding the Round Robin..I totally agree it should be long term/regular cafe members, and I would like to suggest that we should all consider spending a bit extra and using recorded delivery to make things a little safer? I would feel awful if I posted something and it went missing, especially if it was near the end of the round robin.
