If you're looking for a different and colorful 'Home Sweet Home, have a look at this one -

I also like (and have stitched) their 'Welcome Friends' from the Sampler page - you could change the text of that to HSH if you wanted.0 -
lovely pics caroline
what a nightmare meal flateric - I like writing complaints. i can't seem to find a facebook page for them (the ultimate in poor customer satisfaction).
highly recommend sizzling pubs if you have one near you. (same price bracket)
i'd like to do the round robin but after the quilt square sadly I'll have to bow out. I think you'll have to use this thread so m0ds don't get wind of address sharing (i know we got special permission for the quilt square to have a thread)loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. uh oh i think i broke my mse somehow. if anyone else goes to usercp today does it just constantly refresh the page???

chicky - what happened with the quilt square? (Sorry, I've been away a while and not back all that long)
A round robin sounds good, but I don't know that I'd be able to commit to stitching very much each month - so even if it's small designs I'd need it to be at least 2 months before exchange so that I could be sure I'd have the time. I'd like to join in though, despite never having done anything like it before.
I think maybe we can all stitch the first square and send it along with a few charts / pictures of things we like and consider to be within our theme, and the person receiving and stitching it can choose something along the same theme or if they are stuck then use one of the included charts?
Personally I wouldn't want everyone's names and locations stitched into it but I would want them written down so I could write them on the back of the frame. If it was an afgan then perhaps I would want them in the stitching. We wouldn't all have to have the same though if a little info sheet was sent with each project?0 -

?
hi elliep, the quilt fiasco was back in 2010. We got all sorts of special permissions (from MSE & the chart artist). We all stitched diligently & quickly, putting other things aside for common good of having a quilt to auction for charity. But the squares we sent away to be sewn together were never seen again.
I'm not going to go onto the whys and recriminations. Suffice to say we did our best and got hurt. If u search MSE youll find it, but i might as well give link go save u looking at all 40pgs! Im posting it so my comments arent seen as libalous, and so u can make up your own mind as to chickys comment. Thread is here: this pg is what the problem was, pg b4 has initial worry, pg after has conclusion: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2424617
We were perhaps foolish to trust someone from wider MSE (not the cafe), so I wish you all good things for the round robin, I'm sure it'll work out lovely.Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. Frugal Living Challenger. No buying cleaning products. I used MSE advice to reduce my car insurance from 550 to 325!! & paid it off in full!!!0 -

You can also see the people who stuck around.....just read that last page and my blood is boiling again.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
Hi ladies.
JCS. Love the Poppy Flower Fairy, very nice.
Louise. Well done on your commendation!
I have received the fabric from ebay and was pleased with it all. I had a ditzy moment when opening one of the parcels though because as I pulled the fabric from the envelope it looked a dirty chewing gum white. I then realised when it was fully out of the packaging it was the pale blue I wanted that matches DMC 800 IIRC.
What a wally! :rotfl:
FOS. Very nice Christmas Angel, really like it.
Maria. Could you perhaps get some perspex cut to size and finished off nicely (no sharp edges) and just lay over the stitched placemats and coasters to protect them from spillages? Or even get them laminated?
Caroline. Lovely wedding pics, you all look very nice. Your son is gorgeous!
As for me. No stitching done here yet this weekend as we were at a wedding yesterday but hope to get some done after lunch when watching the racing.
Thanks for the comments re our new additionOnce she's here and settled I'll take a pic and show her off.
:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Good Morning everyone!
Firstly my repliesNow for my next off topic question! Do any of you have or do any of your children own the Nintendo 3DS console? I bought a DS console a few years back and bought lots of games. I very rarely play it now.
I saw recently that there was a new mario game being released (and got excited) but when I read up on it, it only works if you have the 3DS consoleI have also seen very recently that there is a new Professor Layton game but again, its exclusive to the 3DS console. I love professor layton but not enough to shell out £139.99 (according to Argo%) for a new console. Time spent on games consoles is time that could be better spent stitching!
Anyhow if you own or know someone that owns a 3DS console - are they worth it ? its something I might consider if they come down in price but then no doubt i will find myself in the same dilemma where they release yet another updated console and games that only work if you buy it.
oh and finally, will my old games work with the 3DS console?
As Louise said old games will work and you can turn off the 3D (I can't stand 3D gives me sore heads). I too a Professor fan. I have a normal DSlite and hubby has the 3DS one - he enjoys it.chickywiggle wrote: »
DS1 and 2 had their halloween party today. Surprisingly "take not give" 'friend' (see my diary) had far too much on to make a decision whether to come or not - so i told her not to bother, one of his school friends mum couldn't be bothered to text as much as yes or no and his other school friend was on holiday. another preferred a child free pm with her hubby then a playdate.
pretty p'ed off with it all to be honest. (sorry for the rant).
Can I just say - grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr - we are here for us all so rant away - you have all listened to my woes often enought.
ps have you put your clocks back?
Not yet but off work all this week so will get round to it sometime today.
Now the bit you have all been waiting for - the competitions.
The drive up to Bridge of Allan was lovely - cold and dry autumn morning. Me and my best friend traveled up together (she entered some photos) Well I entered 10 items and only got one prize.
Here is a link to the library in photo bucket to see all the pictures.

The only prize I got was in the pairs section - jubilee card and small wrapped box. I got a highly commended.
My book mark didn't get a look in -there was about 20 entries - the one who won - had the SWRI on it and wee motifs of all the things we do eg baking, knitting, stitching, music, etc. Maybe mine wasn't original enough - hubby says I should of entered my colour one with different stitches instead of "hands off". Oh well I tried - maybe next time.
I was also disappointed my decorated cupcakes didn't get anything.
The winner had a swirl of icing with a hand made rose on top.
But hey its not the winning its taking part and enjoyed it. Now I can concentrate and finish my christmas exchange and do more on purplework for 12.12.12 - seen the other blackwork challenge with the hearts - think I might do it after and have a kind of matching set.
Would like to take part in a round robin - if I am good enough.
Well off to check facebook and change clock and think what to have to eat. Hubby still in bed. Get ready to enjoy my week off work.
Keep well girls and thanks for all your kind wishes and support - it meant alot.
sweetcarer:j cross stitch forever, housework whenever :j0 -
