    Hi everyone
Love the pics of all your wips!
Don't know if you're on mailing lists for newsletters; mine came from Cross Stitch It yesterday with a 20% discount voucher off all their charts and design services.
    http://www.crossstitchit.com
If you enter code CSMC24 on the online order form, 20% discount is calculated at checkout - thought you might be interested. They also do Custom charts and Gift Vouchers. (Appeared in mags in US, AUS and UK)
I've used them several times - great personal service and brilliant charts.

I second what MMP says, they both look great but i think I prefer the hands off one also. Would love to see that one in diff colours such as rainbow variegated, pastel mix ooh and reds and black perhaps, ooh and some sparkles. Where did you get the design for the first one or did you design it? I would love to find a copy and make myself one.

    Hi Girls

It is from this website here http://kincavelkrosses.wordpress.com/2011/06/19/hands-off-my-book/ - hope that works

Sweetcarer. I like them both for different reasons so I think it depends what the judges are looking for in the competition, do you know? Purely on looks I prefer the first one 'Hands off my book' but for use of different stitches I like the second one.

All that is in the leaflet for the competition is - cross stitch bookmark. I guess the blue one will go as it is all cross stitch.

Sweetcarer - I like them both. The blue and white is my favourite tho' but the other one is very colourful and shows off your stitching talents. Are you only allowed one entry?

    Only can enter one entry.

Thank you all for your kind wishes with regards to them both.

Started doing a small crown for the "jubilee parcel and card". Thought why not cross stitch the card. I miscounted so will have to frog a bit of it.

Brednall - hope things get a little easier with you and your OH. Life is so tough at times.

Well off to check on other stuff before I head off to work - have a nice Monday everyone and keep warm its another cold one.

    sweetcarer ;)

argh, I just typed a long response and it wouldn't post. Really should remember to copy before pressing the 'post' button!

FOS - I like the blue bookmark and it shows your use of a speciality thread so good luck with it and let us know how you get on.

Brednall - Don't worry, you're allowed to rant all you want here. We're all here to help and support you in any way we can. As I explained a few days ago, I've been where you are (though without the kids) and it's horrible. If you want to PM me or find me through the facebook group and message me then you're very welcome to do so. I'll help in any way I can whether that's just listening or whether that's giving advice or practical help.

I'm doing well with my cross stitch and the end is in sight, starting to think about what to do next.
I'd really like to do something colourful and christmassy but last time I did that I ended up stitching a beautiful JE Santa all year. He was lovely but I don't want Christmas all year again. I like larger projects as if I do small ones I don't frame them and they get put in storage where they're wasted really. So what to do?

    1. Choose Christmas design and just work on it for as long as it takes
    2. Find colourful non-Christmassy design

If 2 then any suggestions anyone? My stash consists of a pile of magazines, a bag of fabric and about 2/3 of the DMC colours so I don't have a stack of kits waiting to be stitched. I've been trying to get the JE ultimate collection book but it goes for crazy prices on ebay and I can't find it anywhere else. I want to stitch the stockings and maybe one of the angels from it. (If anyone has one they want to sell, I'm interested in buying).

Morning, well the nice man is here decorating my stairs and hall way and once we destroyed the mega sensitive smoke alarm (it doesn't like industrial wallpaper stripper) I've banished myself to the kitchen for the remainder of the day.....

I've brought my e-reader & laptop with me...I even dug out a cross stitch that I started earlier in the year..:j

But it's raining here and its dull and overcast, if I do stitching I need the light on and I'm a meanie when it comes to gas /electric so I'm waiting to see if it lightens up a bit before I start to stitch. Don't know why I'm waiting though, the lights are on in the hall and the wallpaper stripper must be clocking up hundreds of kilowatts every second its on:rotfl:

Hope you all have a nice day and say a little prayer for me to get some sunshine later pls!!
  • just nipped back to the 2010 thread to check something out (how things have changed).
wonder if 23rd Spiral could still hand on heart say she has "never bought a kit except from the 99p store" (linky) :rotfl: us a bad influance......................never.

hmmm ellip - now theres a dilema. I've not got that book sorry. Tho I do have other Joan Elliott ones with angels in (i think) if that's any help. this one. and another I can't remember at the moment.

Oh Chicky, I hope the parcels don't prove too tempting for you!

I thought i might do a 'home sweet home' design, and I definitely want colourful so perhaps this one http://www.crossstitchers.co.uk/product.php?xProd=877
I already have the chart in an old magazine and I probably have most of the threads too.
I do like the JE Wit and Wisdom ones though, are there any in the book that could be combined into a bigger piece?

I do love the cut thro's but they only come as kits, not charts don't they?
  • thats pretty.

    sadly i believe so ellip.

    Hi ladies.

FOS. My preferences are Jeffrey and Sadies stockings :)

    Littlestar. Nice update.

As for me. No stitching done here this weekend but here's my latest update.

A reminder of what I am stitching,

It's coming along slow but sure, I'm in no hurry to finish so no matter :)
