    that's looking Amazing PAP.

ever counted down the stitches until you could throw away a thread (wasteful I know) but the one I've just finished was soooooo fluffy and at one point snapped - must have been a cheap one.
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:
  • did you work out what you were unpicking *louise*?

    Evening everyone,

Finally made a good start on Blackwork Angel, and hopefully going to spend an hour or two sewing tonight whilst catching up on Strictly and Downton

They attempted delivery (to my office) at 8pm this evening..... like I'm still going to be at my desk at that time..... :rotfl: rather random the parcel is marked as delivered and then marked back at the depot ? so not sure what that's about. Its the first parcel in ages that I have ordered from Amzon that has been sent by courier - much prefer it when they send it by post. Not sure but looks like they are going to send it out again tomorrow for redelivery so fingers crossed they will deliver at a sensible time.

oh well at least the cross stitch kit I ordered should soon be winging its way to me. Dare I look at sew and so to see if anything else takes my fancy ?
  • Great update pics Louise, shelly, pap and JCS1 :T

Hope everything works out for you soon Emma - <<<hugs>>>

Thanks chicky for planting that flamin tune in my head :p

Went to Mums early this morning and decided to take '12/12/12' with me so that I could stitch while we had our coffee. Got nicely settled down, stitching in hand then realised I hadn't brought a needle with me  That was as much (or should I say as little) stitching I've managed all day.

Let's see what tomorrow brings ..........

    Take care everyone

    Dashes in ....................

    :hello: Hello everyone!! :hello:

Sorry not been about for AGES....been very busy and getting busier, with lots of fairs coming up. :D

Just caught up with the last couple of pages...don't think I have enough spare time left this year to catch up with all that I have missed on just this thread!!! :o

    Love the blackwork angel
JCS1...wish I had time to do some stitching...no chance before Xmas though :(

I have not done any cross-stitching since June , but been sewing and knitting almost every day.

Need to head off to bed now, as have a long day ahead, doing web-work near the Welsh border, so a longish car journey.

Thanks to sweetcarer and Louise who got in touch in the past few days...apologies again for not popping for such a long time.

I promise not to leave it so long before I return...but it probably won't be until the weekend (not saying which weekend though!! :rotfl:).

    ........................dashes out again

did you work out what you were unpicking *louise*?

Looking back at my list I think it was probably 'A Treasured Time':rotfl:

JCS1 - she is beautiful. I'm forcing myself to complete my Christmas gift and Project 12 before starting her, but I hope to make a start in December

I'm thinking of using different colours for her tbh, not decided yet.

Chicky - I love that song so it can't annoy me. It was the last one I ever sang with the school choir* at the Christmas concert, I get a warm feeling when I hear it.

*Choir - good way of skiving out of classes for 'rehearsals' and hanging with the guy I liked back then who played guitar - good times :D

Flowers - that storage unit is lovely, haven't seen it before, You've got lots of saving to do for that one or many birthdays and Christmas money to be asked for. Didn't find the shop you recommended but I did find Johnsons of Bond Street in Blackpool. It was like stepping back in time a really old fashioned shop with lots of wooden fittings with things inside and many little rooms of the main shop selling everything. My son was with me and he said he's never seen so many buttons in one place. If you are up that way it's well worth a visit. The down side is they DON'T accept cards. Probably a good thing for me as I could have spent a fortune. They sold all sorts, wool, fabric quarter, buttons, cross stitch, tapestry, ribbon etc.

Sweetcarer - I like the blue bookmark but agree that it depends what the judges are looking for with regards to stitches.

Brednall - sorry things are a bit rubbish at the moment hope they pick up.

Flowers (again - can you tell I'm working through the previous posts as I type this?) - for the man I like Jeffrey's and the woman I like Sadie. I think they seem to match with the design at the bottom.

elliep - Sorry can't help with the book but will keep my eye out for it on my travels. if I see it anywhere I will let you know - happy to post on but would need to cover cost of book and postage. Sure this is one I managed to get about a year ago and post on to someone (can't remember who now though).

Louise - you will have your 12 days finished in no time at all. Great progress.

JCS1 - you've made a cracking start to the angel well done it's looking lovely. Don't know whether to try to do mine this year or leave it until I have more time next year. Who I am kidding - more time, I will only fill the time with other things to stitch.

PAP - London looks lovely. What thread have you run out of might be able to help you out.

Keiss - lovely to hear from you glad you are well and have just been busy. Hope your fairs go well.
