  • i love them both sweetcarer, but if i had to chose just one it would be the blue hands off my book one.
but they are both very good

  • I second what MMP says, they both look great but i think I prefer the hands off one also. Would love to see that one in diff colours such as rainbow variegated, pastel mix ooh and reds and black perhaps, ooh and some sparkles. Where did you get the design for the first one or did you design it? I would love to find a copy and make myself one.

    Hi ladies.

    Firefly. Nice update!

Maria. I would either do as Louise said and cut out the stitched bit, chuck it away and use the fabric that's left or if I knew the recipients would love and appreciate the piece I would probably soldier on. Though to carry on I would have to know they would really really appreciate it.
FE's comment is also a good one, sell it on with all the materials.
Now I read further I see you putting it to one side for awhile, good idea too, let us know what you decide :)

FE. Love the Boofle design though it looks like it needs a background?!? or is that just me? :o

Scotswinmum. Love the Celtic Christmas update. Can already see it's going to be beautiful.

Sweetcarer. I like them both for different reasons so I think it depends what the judges are looking for in the competition, do you know? Purely on looks I prefer the first one 'Hands off my book' but for use of different stitches I like the second one.

As for me. No stiching here yet this weekend though hope to do some later while MotoGP is on.
The printer has been going like mad though! :D Wanting to take advantage of it being fixed I have printed off a few charts that I have in digital format. Mostly xmas designs and have copied the bird table chart.
Can't wait to get started on them all :)
:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:

Just spent ages doing a massive reply and lost it! And now I can't remember everythign i said as it was a massive catch up

I'll have to do the best off of the top of my head:

Sweetcarer I like the multi-coloured one best but hands off my book is good too :)

Scotstwinmum Celtic noel looking good, and I really like your sparkly purple snowflake too :)

Flat Eric I like the Boofle kit but it is a bit pricey for what it is

Maria and the Imps I wouldn't unpick it just yet, maybe give it a while and see if you can get through it a bit at a time.

    Hi PM2326 :hello:

firefly369 Try not to be too stressed and anxious. It makes things harder. Close friends of ours went through grueling fertility treatment and sadly a devestating miscarriage of twins.. and ended up getting pregnant naturally just before beginning a new course of treatment. They are the ones I am doing Noahs Ark for. Although baby will be 5 months old before they get it. Assuming I get it done for Christmas :o It's hard not to worry though, I'm sure. Sending you hugs *hugs*

shelly well done on you lucky day! It's nice when you have a nice suprise!

Ailsb That DMC wooden box looks lovely. Maybe ask for a terramundi for christmas and save up for it? And the glasses and wine your son picked look lovely! How sweet :D

Mrs-moneypenny The Lady of Shallot was oen my wish list, but I ordered the Monet picture instead- but I bet that will be a pain too!

Littlestar1981 Calendar Bears is lovely, and your reason for keeping it. I hope you have may years of enjoyment from it

Skoobie Angel is looking fab and you kitty decoration- very cutes.

I'm sure there were other things....

I'm hoping do get a couple of hours on Noahs Ark today and tomorrow and maybe get the bottom o fthe boat done. Maybe. Fingers crossed. :p
  • FE - love the Boofle and Co. I hope to get a little Boofle on his own done for DH for xmas.

scotstwinmum- great progress on Celtic Noel. :T

Ailsb - hope you have a great time in Blackpool. :money: will be sooo proud of you. ;)

mrs. m - sorry to hear the weather is not too good for you. Its a lovely day here - bright and sunny for a change. Just decided to strip beds and set the washer going - dark clouds will probably land before it knocks off :D

sweetcarer - eeny meeny miney mo - ooooh dear I like them both but I will vote for the 'hands off' one. I bet the other one stands out more 'in real life' with all the different stitches. I will have to look up the different stitches to see how to do them as it all sounds foreign to me. :o

Trying to catch up on chores today so that I can have some stitchy time later.

    Take care everyone

sweetcarer - could you be rather sneeky??

one on the front one on the back with some felt in the middle??

If not I prefer the blue.
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:
  • The blue book mark is my favourite of the 2

  • Happy Sunday Everyone,

Scotswinmum - Celtic Christmas is going to be stunning. You are making great progress with her.

Flat Eric - I love the kit. Definately something I would stitch. Although I rarely buy kits anymore, instead I buy charts and anything that is missing from my stash.

Ailsb - Thank you for sharing your story, your words of encouragement and your generous offer.:)

B.E.G - Ordered some threads to start my Xmassy stuff.

Maria - I would either sell it on or unpick it. I would hate to waste material but I think putting it aside for now is a good idea.

Sweetcarer - I like them both. The blue and white is my favourite tho' but the other one is very colourful and shows off your stitching talents. Are you only allowed one entry?

Laura2481 - I am sure your friend is going to Love Noahs Ark. Thank you for the hugs:)

I was hoping for a drizzly afternoon for some guilty free stitching but it is a warm and sunny day here so will probably have to wait till this evening for some stitchy fun:p

    Have a nice Sunday:)
  • Afternoon all It's a lovely bright and sunny day - have been able to hang out washing again :j

Just put away my sewing machine so having a cuppa in the cafe and catching up with all your news

subtle minx sorry can't help with queries on beads and metallics
looking forward to seeing this Halloween piece = all the effort you have put into it, it will be amazing

sweetcarer glad you found your magazines and hope you can rescue the fabric. I think there are specialist treatments for mould but might be worth trying with bleach first
Hope you called your insurance company to challenge their quote

mrsmp (and Louise) Lady of Shalot is an amazing picture - the original is at the Tate and well worth going to see if you are ever in that part of London (admission is free). Would look stunning stitched but like Louise says the confetti stitching would be horrendous
Would love to see the Celtic Noel variation with a hood

fe Assuming your question about ideal present has no financial limits then I would love one of these storage units |Well you did ask :rotfl:

ailsb What a lovely gift from your son. Thoughtful and appropriate.

shelly Good news about the printer = essential piece of kit for stitchers :D

Timer has just sounded so need to do some work on the dinner. Back later.

Hope all are enjoying their Sunday

Another one of our members on the look out for a parcel this week ;) - that's what we like to hear :D. Hope you manage some stitchy time later.

I'm making reasonable progress with Project 12/12/12 this afternoon. It's quite 'blocky' so is coming along quite well.
