I'm home after a lovely day catching up with my friend including a browse in the stitchy shop (no purchases made but will be popping over to sew and so very soon ..... )

It almost feels wrong to say my day was lovely... train I was traveling on was involved in a very sad incident just outside the station I was traveling to. :( very sad. I really feel for all involved.

Anyhow off to sew and so now. :T hope everyone has a lovely evening planned :T

It was an accident too apparently. Were we on the same train today - I went to Exeter to the new John Lewis....

    Hi guys

Thought I would pop in and say hello

Its been months since i posted on here or done any stitching :(

I decided to sort my house as it was starting to fall down around me and l was ashamed if anyone came to visit. But I'm nearing the finish and by thursday next week all the decorating will be done, only have to wait for the carpet fitters and the new sofa coming.

All my stitching is packed away safe and sound so as not to get damaged but I'm absolutely desperate to get into it again..I've been reading your posts all this time and getting insanely jealous of all the lovely stuff you have finished.

Hope you will let me rejoin you and I will post some pics when i dig out the UFO's I now have :( xx

FE and tmif - that train accident sound horrible, hope you're both ok and were able to enjoy your days.

I think I'd go for 'A' maria. nothing worse then stitching something you hate.
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:

MrsMP - it's DMC52. Need to take something back to Hobbycraft so will bite the bullet and buy one from them. Prefer to get it from my local shop but that's the opposite direction.

Here's the photo of the glasses and wine our son got us for our anniversary.

He went shopping with my Dad, who doesn't drink so has no idea. I'm really pleased with him as he's been saving his pocket money up so he could get us something nice to keep. we drank the wine out of them really well. :rotfl:

    Ahh thats lovely :heart::heart::heart:

Flateric - missed your question - sorry. Hoping to get on with leaves around fairy and then start Bug over the weekend. My ideal stitchy related gift would be the DMC wooden storage chest (or similar) so that I could keep all of my threads together instead of in 4 different boxes. You did ask for ideal! I'll never get this as it's over £300.

Why not save your £2 coins? I intend to start saving mine again. I ending up breaking into :rotfl:my teramundi pot a few years back as there was a coat I had seen that cost £90  Turned out I had saved £260 in £2 coins :T Might take you a little while but would be worth the wait :T

Definitely avoid B. I would perhaps leave it for a couple of months before doing A (just in case you change your mind). Not sure about C - perhaps if really know its not going to be a labour of love - sell it online? I have seen half started kits and people have bought them.

I like stitching for others but it has to be something I want to stitch or enjoy stitching. Many many years ago, I was doing a project for someone who didn't have the time to do it herself. It was quite a complex kit considering I was a beginner at the time. I gave it back to them in the end unfinished. Just couldn't devote the time to it and found it a project beyond my expertise.

CHICKY - just very sad. :( don't know the whys and wherefores or what actually happened. we were delayed for about an hour and lots of people had their day disrupted as it was a cross country service - and as an earlier London bound service had been cancelled, we were carrying lots of extra passengers. funny enough before it happened- wondered about carrying on on the train and visiting you :D as train's final destination was meant to be Newcastle - can't remember where you live though? (I know it isn't Newcastle) (well I don't think it is) but it is I think getting close???

Out of interest, what is it? Maybe someone would like to buy it from you if it's an interesting design?

If I was hating something and knew I would struggle to finish, I would cut the fabric close to the stitched area and bin that part (and use the other fabric for cards, etc) No point unpicking 2-300 stitches, that would be just as bad as continuing lol
