Hi and welcome to the cafe Fran :)

    thanks Sk00bie1 x
  • 'If' looks fab, I love the leaf detail! The other updates are fab too. The backstitch on the MP? really brings the design to life... wow

    Welcome Fran

Welcome back Aneres and Congrats! :)

Ruth - Glad you're recovering. I'm feeling much better (thanks for asking) physically now eating normally again and I no longer feel sick and not having to take pain killers, that was doing my head in. Still in pain but not surprising. I had 2 impacted wisdom teeth out and the back molar which hade been soo affected it was no longer viable. They did the op under a general and then I had a local after for the pain.

Was able to eat a lovely Indian take away this eve and just been watching Matilda with Joel, my bestie and her boys. I love the film and adored the book.

Little treat I just stumbled upon for everyone - a freebie blackwork pumpkin :)

    Morning all

Finished pieces are looking great. Waiting for threads to arrive then I will be trying my hand at the Michael Powell design too. Never stitched one of his before so thought I would give it a try.

Sorry it's off topic but hubby is driving me mad again. This is the third Sunday morning in a row that he has gone out at some stupid early hour to go mountain biking with his brother in the Derbyshire Dales!!! He will come back, scoff some breakfast (which I will probably have to make otherwise it takes ages to clean up the kitchen if he does it) then he will takes the kiddies off to Grannies then he will probably spend all afternoon in bed to catch up on sleep!!! We have been not on the best of terms for what seems like ages now and he even cancelled our night out last night as he 'didn't feel in the right mood'. My mum was very disappointed not to be having her granchildren for a sleepover as we'd planned too.

OK rant over!!! Hope to get a little bit of stitching done today - a couple of little things to finish just so I can clear the stuff away from the corner.

Hello Fran, welcome to (sometimes) mad house

If you are already a member of Flickr - photo sharing site, then we have a group there where we post pictures. If not, you can join up for free - I think Chicky had posted the instructions on how to do this on the very first page of this thread.

We love pictures of other people's work....:T

Which reminds me, I got "Hard Frost" back from the framers yesterday, it's lovely :)

Will post a picture up later, when I'm awake enough to use the camera properly.

I know it's very bad form to quote your own post...but it's amazing the restorative powers of a cup of tea :rotfl:

mags_cat that is a lovely finished and framed design. Well done to you and also to your framer. Is is a John Clayton design? I like them but a little to pricey for me.

Emma - yes, it's a John Clayton. This is now the last of a seasonal series that I've stitched for my mum. They are all JC's circular designs.

Framing, including double mount and lacing cost £36 - which I thought was quite reasonable. While I was in, I mentioned about the HAED that I've just started. One of the framers has done some cross stitch himself - he told me that he'd had about 6 months off work due to an accident I think and started stitching then, so he always asks about things like fabric count and size of design. When I told him the HAED was 40 inches square his eyes went wide and he did a quick calulation on the possible frame price - over £100 . Mind you, when it is eventually finished (when, not if....I am determined) it'll be worth spending that much on it to get it done.

    Morning all

Quick catch up online while I try to make up my mind whether its the sofa or the shops today. Just checked and the perfume I wanted is no longer on offer. :( Typical. I knew that would happen :( Now I'm sulking and undecided whether its still worth a visit to the shops or if I should stay at home and save the pennies. Although - knowing me - I will probably find myself finding more stitchy stash to buy while I have a little browse on my favourite stitchy websites !

What does everyone else have planned for today ??
