I outta make a start on choosing my mystery christmas card............loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
TMIF - unfortunately I must have had more than my 50 mins stitching so off to do 10 mins chores and while I'm upstairs I might just set the bath running and have a sneaky bath. Pity couldn't bring stitching with me - keeping it dry might be a bit of a problem - can't imagine what would happen if I dropped the needle.
chicky - that is really beautiful. The leaves work so well. Is it a pressie for your Mum?? Just seen your avatar - I just counted up last night that we had 7 weeks till we go away for a little break and then its about 3 weeks till xmas - that sounds scary.
Right going upstairs for 10 mins with hoover and dusters and ???? mins soak in the bath. :shhh::shhh: don't tell DH
Catch up with you all later.

yup it is B_E_G. ohhh are you off somewhere nice??
Hmmmmmmm Christmas stitchy dilema.
I have worked out my design - (gonna try not to give too much away) - basically 3 individual sillouettes. on black aida. mounted 1 under the other on the card.
HOWEVER I only have a silver maderia thread - don't ask me WHY I have no other silver I would LOVE to know. and I HATE Maderia thread.
My question is should I:
- order some silver - as I know it'll get used and wait until it turns up to stitch my card.
- stitch it in white or very pale gray or blue
- stitch 1 in white, 1 in pale blue, 1 in silver
- something else?loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -

I've ordered the baby boy sampler from 'thehistorical sampler company' and have been trying to source a frame over here (Australia) thats not too expensive. I want to frame the sampler myself when complete, as its soooo expensive to have anything professionally framed here. It states on the website that the size is 30cm x 30cm and i've spotted some bargain frames $10 that are 47cm x 47cm. Trust me, they are definate bargains. So i'm thinking that they'd be perfect with a mount.
I've never cut mounts before, always had them done professionally, anyone cut their own?? and how hard is it?? any tips??
Thanks
Oh and by the way, am loving the cross stitch magazine apps, have the current cross stitcher and woxs, hubby's gonna find a way to print from them too, so that'll be good, more to put on my 'to do' list, lol.
Happy Stitching!!!0 -

Got some double-sided tape from The Works - 3 rolls for 99p - which will come in handy for the christmas card making.
Having trouble tracking down a reasonably priced red square frame (approx 8" x 8") at a reasonable price. Why oh why do I pick square designs when it is so difficult to get cheap frames. Dont want to spend too much when it is only going to be on show for a few weeks of the year. Was wondering if The Range had anything in. Might try and have a look online to save a wasted trip.
Catch up with all you posts later.

Glad I posted my pics from ikea now. Hope you find your purchases useful! Have you tried Wilkinsons for square frames? I've found some in there at a good price before. Don't forgot to check frames with pics already in. You can always remove the pic to use the frame.Happy to get home and find WOXS waiting for me. :j Only had a quick browse but lots I like and plenty to add to the "to stitch list"
Have been away this weekend (the one I mentioned in a previous post) and thank you to all who replied and said I should go - I did - and I have had fun. Have also had a good laugh - feel better for it (I think!) ( just dreading the return to work tomorrow now).
Don't feel up to any stitching tonight - will read WOXS instead :j
Glad you went away and enjoyed yourself.Thought I would share a cross stitchy craft make I made for a christmas present for my mother in law last year:
Vintage Teacup pincushion
Vintage teacup was from a charity shop- £5 for a set of 6 with the matching saucers and side plates. I made some into candles.. Anyways, I sitched a co-ordinating flower pattern on evenweave then cut a big circle around it, stuffed it with stuffing and sewed it up. Cut a carboard circle and covered it with evenweave, sewed in a bit of ribbon and the used glue gun to attach the cardboard bottom to the pincushion top. The pincushion bit lifts out so you can store bits and pieces under it. Glue gun (or possibly gel superglue, can't remember..) to stick the saucer and side plate together and then stick cup to saucer so the plates can be used as a scissor rest etc. Fairly easy to make, and the cross stitch flower motif was maybe an hour to stitch? Can be done in an afternoon if you've got all the bits
Thanks for sharing. It's a lovely and unusual idea. Very pretty. :T
It's just started raining here.I was planning on going out for a walk this afternoon. Very annoyed to find I've GAINED 4lbs in the last week!:mad::mad: How on earth has that happened!?!? I had nothing at all to eat for a day and a half, then very light meals since. And they removed my gall bladder and lots of my blood! I'm not happy at all.

Hello Girls
Just had a upsetting morning. First car loss adjusters phoned asking for my paper work - they sent it by email not post and wanted a reply. I thought I had to wait till the mail came not email - so had to send it off first class recorded. Then when I got to post office 12:30 I asked if I missed last post - to which I got a snotty reply "all post has to be here by 12 for last post". I thought it was 1pm and according to their sign it is. They said that is only for guidance - so feel really upset with them all. Having said that got all my mail done - my AOY exchange piece, stuff for the car, entry for federation show(hope they get it in time) and a wee gift for someone.
Now going to chill and do some more stitching - might do bit more work on my christmas card exchange and maybe some of my purple work.
Thought I share some updates too with you all..
AOY exchange
Latest on purple work
Just remembered better do something with my competition entry -going to try and do three different bookmarks and see what you girls think what one to enter to show.
Keep well - hope you are well whereever you are

Leemina - I've cut a mount before and it wasn't too bad. If you're reasonably crafty and you've got a decent craft knife, metal ruler and cutting mat then you'll be fine. Just be patient with it and you'll be fine. Good luck with it, and welcome to the forum.0
