    *****OFF TOPIC*****

No stitching today (just got the backstitch on th MP house to do tonight) but I have been crafting. I got chatting to my friend at the school gate and discussed how we can get the kids self motivated in the mornings without us having to nag them (have you got your bag...your lunch...your bookbag.....etc) We both have 5 and 7 year olds.

So I went home and put four of these together, the little squares are on velcro so they kids can move them to the bottom section when they are done.

My friend was chuffed to bits with her ones, here's hoping they can save our voices in the mornings :D :T

Ruth_honey - lovely little xmas decs. Will have a look at zip bags and red/green frames at Ikea next time we visit. The bags are quite handy for small wips - got mine from Home Bargains last time. Pots of Gold sound interesting - might have to take a little lookie - think I had nothing else to do wouldn't you :p. Oooohhh just come across your post re op - great news and hope everything goes well for you and that it won't be long before you are on your road to recovery. Madiera holographic sounds very intriguing - makes my plain old DMC/Anc very boring :p:D

Thanks. I got the snowflakes frames from Boots in the sale. They were 75% off, so very cheap. Worth looking for after Christmas.

I liked the ikea bags because they're a bit pretty. They stand out more than the plain clear ones. Wish Home Bargains was closer. I go when I visit mum, but the nearest one to here is about an hour & half by bus. And I always come back loaded with goodies!

I didn't even know I had that Madiera thread. It must have been a gift for submitting a letter to a magazine. I was just having a rummage for something & came across it. You can't even use thread heaven to tame it because it's almost like stitching with tinsel strips.

Ruth - Sorry to hear you have had more problems since losing weight, hoepfully you will get sorted soon and things will settle down after that. You have inspired to get back on my diet and try and lose some weight before Christmas so any tips are welcome :)

Replying in shorts bursts as I'm getting sleepy so quickly today. So apologies for lots of posts from me.
Managed only to have painkillers first thing, which is good. Don't like taking lots of pills if I think I can cope ok.

Louise, I noticed something at my local pool about an exercise on referral scheme that they do with the doctors. If you have problems which could be helped by regular excersise then your gp can refer you to the gym for some sessions at a discounted rate. It can be many things-blood pressure, anxiety, overweight, stress, joint problems...
I asked my Dr about it and did 12 gym sessions for £12, then did a full years membership (pool, gym & classes) at a very discounted rate. They might not do that by you, but it could be worth checking. My hubby has lost a fair bit of weight by going for walks in his lunch breaks. 30 minutes, 5 days a week. Now he's also started swimming in his lunch break on mon/weds/fri too. That and reading what portion sizes are supposed to be have helped us, but it's not easy. I think part of our trouble was having large bowls, so if you serve a normal portion in that, It would look tiny. I do need to start eating more fruit and veg, though. I'm very bad at that.
The ikea bags-do you mean the zip lock ones, or the Christmas ones? Zip lock were with the kitchen section. Near the jars, I think. Xmas one were in the warehouse bit at the end. There was a little display with Xmas stuff and they were there. Hope that helps, but let me know if you need names of the stuff.

Flat Eric-have you started your Santa Sidecars Stocking yet? My mum brought mine for me-all the way from ABC Stitch Therapy!-and I love it. The colours are so great. I'm going to give it to my husband as his Christmas present, but not sure if I should bother starting it at all. What I mean is, should I give the kit as a gift & say I'll stitch it to be used in Christmas 2013, or do a bit now and see how go?

Ok, I'm flagging as my spelling is getting really bad. Even with apple trying to correct things for me...:rotfl:

    Time for a cat nap...

feel better now I have had a glass of wine and looking forward to a good nights sleep which will do me good. Things always seem better when you don't have to set the alarm clock (well I do tomorrow but no work so kick OH out of bed and send on his way then roll over and back to sleep for me and the cat (who incidentally has just been exploring our loft - not a good idea when its full of junk and I've started on the wine and am trying to coax him down....)

Ruth Honey - not started the sidecar stocking yet. have the threads etc in a box but the material and chart are somewhere else. Im super organised ... not :rotfl:

so not done any stitching this evening - have been busy doing a Mr T order for delivery tomorrow. Just debating whether I want to go into town shopping or whether I wait till next week. Debenham% have a perfume i like on offer and I need a few other bits so think guess it will be the war of stitching v shopping tomorrow :rotfl:

I did enjoy it but I will be honest...I think I would get bored doing one of his really big designs.
