  • Ruth honey Great to see you back. Taking things easy is so important after surgery. Shame about the holiday but I'm sure you are more pleased to have had the op done.

Maria, elliep, subtleminx and littlestar Sorry the link didn't work - no doubt at all that this is a PICNIC (problem in chair not in computer).
I've tried it again with the sewandso site

Thank you for your comments. As this is a new kit from the Lanarte Autumn range there isn't much chance of it selling out so I will leave it for at least a week and if it's still on my mind then I will go for it. This strategy also leaves me time to build up a bit more in my Paypal account - spending that doesn't seem like spending money :D

Maria I would definitely be worried by your symptoms but if a quick browse around a site like sewandso revives your crafty bug then it could just be that HC hasn't got anything to tempt you (it isn't a store I particularly like)

brednall Love those snow globes and great value as well I think my favourites are the reindeer and the penguin but I like them all. They look great framed as a set of 4 but would also make stunning hanging decorations

littlestar I will have a look at some of my magazines over the weekend if you haven't found anything suitable using Maria's suggestion

glad you're back and it went relativly smoothly ruth_honey.

Glad you had a good night out Maria.... Must PM you an online app you'll love(may already know about) called "let me google that for you".

I was TRES good. went into Mr T last night. picked up WOXS decided I didn't like the night before christmas advent calander after all (liked the pic but not the actual calender) and put it back.
Are we all going down with a bug?? aiming to get "IF" completly finished tonight.
Been at home all day as DS1 was too 'sick' to go to the childminders (horrible cough, mild cold, half asleep). Dragged him into town tho as had a couple of bits to tie up at work before taking a day off as not back in till Wednesday and got him his christmas/ birthday pressie from my dad (his b'day's next week) so had to build that when we got home (lego) - he helped build/played with it for an hour then came and curled up on my bed and fell asleep.
I've spend the sleepy time catching up on some surveys so i can have stitchy time tonight. Had plans to get as much 'flylady' done but toooo cold. I SWARE it almost snowed yesterday - it was very fine/ soft rain.

Must add meal plan the following week to my lists - we are spending FAR to much of food again.
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:

Hi all! I'm back. Got home from hospital yesterday tea time. Thanks so much for all your thoughts & good wishes.
The op went ok. I had a bile leak from my liver, which had to be clipped and I had a drain put in, so had to stay in hospital an extra night. Drain all gone now & my wounds aren't too bad. I was in a bit of pain in hospital from trapped gas in my abdomen, but once that passed, I felt much better. Didn't take any stitching with me, as I didn't think I'd be able to concentrate on it. As it turned out, I had a cannula in my right wrist, which would've stopped me stitching anyway. Read a bit of my book, in short bursts, but mainly slept a lot.
Missed out on my holiday, which is disappointing, but couldn't be helped. Glad to be home now. DVDs, stitching & some gentle walks for a while. And a proper catch up on here, of course...:)

Glad you're home and feeling ok :o Time to put your feet up and bring on the cross stitch :)

  • Hi little star if I'm after a specific type of small chart I will just Google it so for yours I would Google

    Free space cross stitch chart

And then I would look at the image pages and see what I can find

Thanks, clearly I should have added that I do have a reasonable level of intelligence and self motivation and had already spent a good amount of time on google and not particularly found anything appropriate/nice/the right size, therefore thought I might come on here and get some friendly recommendations from knowledgeable people who may have a recommendation of a particular book or magazine that I could go and purchase....

No need to get rude LittleStar - the last time you posted here was MAY 2010. So am sure we could be forgiven for thinking you've only popped back in because you want something.

You did not state you had already looked on google, many people don't bother.

a lot of us have stopped helping out people who do not post frequently because rarley do they ever say thank you. they just *disapear* for a couple of years.

Google is the easiest thing in the world to use, not using it is laziness! I did *disappear* when I last posted, I disappeared to Africa for a year then for the past 12 months have been juggling a full time job with battling mental illness so cross stitch has been a million miles from my mind and I've had little time to do it. However, now I am off work sick through illness I'm finally picking up my stitching which I am finding therapeutic and helpful in recovery, and even want to do some for a good cause.

So while I appreciate where you're coming from at the same time it's unfair to tar everyone with the same brush, and being an open forum you are going to get people from time to time who do come to this forum for advice as it's known as a place full of people with experience and knowledge. I will contribute to this thread where and when I can and would always want to help others in return for any help I receive.
