Afternoon all
Well done on all the completions sk00bie and good luck with the rest.
I have found a Halloween ABC from a recent Crazy if anyone would like. I don't 'do' Halloween and I am sure some of you lovely ladies might be able to make use of it.

Hello stitchers
Work is continuing to get in the way of stitching - out all day yesterday and am working late tonight so no stitchy progress to report.
I have been a paid up and active member of the SABLE club for many yearsAbout 10 years ago a dear friend tried to persuade me to try patchwork and quilting but I resisted saying that I did not need another hobby which involved accumulation of stash (I had seen hers). About 5 years ago she won the battle so I now have stash consisting of cross stitch (lots and lots), card making (manageable amount as I don't do a lot of this), patchwork, quilting and applique (lots of fabric which takes up loads of space), punchneedle (a bit), needlepoint/tapestry (not a huge amount), dressmaking material and equipment plus an assortment of other crafty bits and pieces which have appealed to me at some point.
And that's before you count my extensive "library" of magazines and craft books. Have managed to resist the knitting revival thankfully
I have a xs pattern which is on my to do list for next year which has a cartoon style spider inside a web with the wording "I'm trapped in a web of stash and can't get out". I also have a xs picture which was done for me by a friend which says "She who dies with the most stash wins". When she gave it to me she was in the lead :rotfl:
But one day I hope to have more time and as this will coincide with having less income I will be able to indulge my favourite hobbies to my heart's content. Well that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
Ruth Great to hear your operation went well Hope you find plenty of stitching time during your recuperation.
skoobie Very impressive lists - both of them. You must be pleased with what you have achieved this year (and it's not over yet). Some of your choices are my lists as well
I love your angels
Hope you get to the Show - I've been to the Harrogate version and it's FABULOUS (or certainly used to be). I don't mind going to these things on my own and even when I go with a group we always split up and just agree to meet up periodically e,g, for lunch
b e g I think that Louise volunteered to keep a note of choices for Project 12. I have now decided to stitch a Drawn Thread scissor fob for my 20 12 2012 project. It's only small but the date will fit nicely on the back and I know from past experience that my stitching time during December is very limited. I've got a small piece of linen from a Polstitches grab bag which I think will do nicely.
The frames sound ideal and of course a great price :money:
laura Thanks for the review of Cross Stitcher I was beginning to think I was the only cafe member who likes this magazine. I also thought the free kit was very cute this month
Ailsb I can't see your avatar and I'm using Chrome. Everyone else's is ok
brednall Do you know the issue or date of the Cross Stitch Card Shop magazine you want? I have early copies (up to about 2006 I think)
Hi craftygranny  Are you still cross stitching? Anything that you can share with us?
Maria Thanks for the heads up on 12 11 12. I suppose there is also 211112. Will have to finish lots of projects and date them all
Re WHS - their CEO is also "stepping down" next year. I used to love that shop when I was young but these days I think it is very old fashioned as well as expensive. I tend to buy nearly all of my stationery from £shops, books online or from charity shops (or via my Kindle) and get magazines on subscription. I occasionally browse the magazine section to check out US magazines (good for quilting) but I agree that they must be struggling apart from the outlets in stations and airports
Louise Surely that's only a year's worth of stitching for you:rotfl:
soulie Good to see you back again
nmm lovely update on BD. Hope you get more good news about your finger
FE I didn't notice the Noel cushion so can't wait to get home and check it out
elliep Hope you are having a lovely stitchy day0 -
One of my cats has just eaten my dinner... I am not amused0

Oh I am sure I will find something else... so p'd off though. They've never done that before.
...and they'd already been fed. Grr.
Oh well, on with the craftiness0 -
Eric, I did see that noel cushion in the Cross Stitch Collection mag I have here. However I am not going to buy it, got too much to stitch/patterns saved already
FOS, I hope you get to stitch soon :T
Ruth, glad you had a sucessful operation, I hope your recovery goes well. Plenty if stitching time
laura & FOS, I too used to like Cross Stitcher but I am trying to cut down the magazine i buy and charts I hord
craftygranny, hello :j
I do go in WHS but only if I can't find the magazine elsewhere. Can't say I ever go in there for anything else. As FOS says most things are cheaper in the £shop.
I am NOT part of SABLE :T I generally buy the threads/aida as I go however I do have an obbsession with keeping charts I like even if I may not stitch themI have quite a few saved on the PC (scaned from mags I used to own) but I am going to print them tonight. Other than that I have about 70 skeins and a pile of finished projects. The only other two crafts I do are Quilling which is all contained in a RUB and decopatchwhihc is only one pot of glue and 3 brown bags.
That said I am going to try and bid on a sewing box that can live downstairs. That way current projects can be stored in that instead of totes hanging off the door :rotfl:
Tonight I am designing my christmas cardI wasn't going to but I have aida/thread/pattern/papers so would only need to buy the plain cards. Thinking it will be cheaper and easier than searching through the hundrends you can buy from any shop. Only need 6 I think :T
Have a great night all :j0
