FOS - Just buy it! (Honestly, you shouldn't ask me, I have no anti-stash willpower):rotfl:I think it's a beautiful design as well, I would buy it, but only if I could find the chart on it's own.
When I am TRYING to resist something, I bookmark it so I can go back to something after a while and see how much I still want it want it. I have crossed a few things off my To Do list just by waiting and finding my tastes changed
Just before I logged in here I bookmarked two Lizzie Kate designs - 'Be Naughty, save santa a trip' and 'Children are a great way to start people' I probably will end up buying them as they sell the charts on their own.
brednall - Thanks for sharing the snow globes, I really like them, especially the top set. I think they would make nice coaster inserts
Ruth - good to see you posting, sorry to hear things were more complicated but at least that's it done now, wishing you a speedy recovery xxx
Flat Eric - Just gonna send you big (((HUGS))) hope some stitching perks you up a bit xxx
Oh, I love that 'Be Naughty' LK chart too. It's on my wish list on Sew & So, so might treat myself soon. Why don't they make it so you can email your wish list to people? Makes perfect sense to me. I bought another chart-something like when you stop believing, you get socks & underwear at Christmas, but for the life of me, I can't find it anywhere.Michael Powell cottage (from WOCS) I started the backstitch then stopped to take a pic and try for a 'before and after'
Love it! :T I actually want that magazine now, after reading all the reviews you girls posted. I could stitch the MP chart for mums Christmas card.blue_eyed_girl wrote: »Morning all
Ruth_honey - great to hear that you are back home. Take things nice and easy and make the most of it with plenty of stitchy time.
Louise - I just love MP. Looking forward to starting mine.
Sorted threads for 2012/2013 project yesterday. Put to one side the ones I had, substituted some others and now got a much shorter list to order :j. Will order these over the next few day and then put it to one side for the time being. Had email last night to say that the fabric had been despatched.
Started a little xmas card last night - snowman on sparkly aida and I love the effect.
Just catching up with a bit of last nights tv and then I am off to the gym around 7.20 for maybe an hour (well that's the intention anyway).
Hope you all manage some stitchy time this weekend.

P.S Found this site yesterday and spent quite a while browsing. DISCLAIMER - I will not be held responsible for any extras being added to stashes.
7:20 at the gym? Wow! I'm very impressed. Good for you.
After tea, I'm gonna stick X factor on and do some stitching. Think I'll work on the christmas card exchange. It's coming along nicely and should be finished in a few days.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Thanks to all the girls in the Cross Stitch Cafe! You're all fantastic! :A0 -
Just thought I'd drop in and say hello, not been on for ages or done much cross stitch.
Was busy over the summer as I got married in September, but now I've got a bit more so I'm trying to get back in to the large cross stitch from China.
I'm dying to start something else but I know it will just become a UFO if I don't persevere.
Everyone's pics are great!!0 -

I outta make a start on choosing my mystery christmas card............chickywiggle wrote: »yup it is B_E_G. ohhh are you off somewhere nice??
Hmmmmmmm Christmas stitchy dilema.
I have worked out my design - (gonna try not to give too much away) - basically 3 individual sillouettes. on black aida. mounted 1 under the other on the card.
HOWEVER I only have a silver maderia thread - don't ask me WHY I have no other silver I would LOVE to know. and I HATE Maderia thread.
My question is should I:
- order some silver - as I know it'll get used and wait until it turns up to stitch my card.
- stitch it in white or very pale gray or blue
- stitch 1 in white, 1 in pale blue, 1 in silver
- something else?
'If' looks brilliant, Chicky! Well done! :j
Why don't you try stitching in silver & if it's not driving you crazy, do all three in silver (love some festive sparkle!), but if it is, then do the others in pale blue or white. I think a lot of people have Madiera metallics without ever buying them...lol! They just appear in the bottom of a stash box. I've never bought Madiera threads, but seem to have a fair amount of them.catwoman150 wrote: »Well I have started to get my mojo back. I have started yet another project. I know that I should be finishing the ones I have, but oh well. :rotfl::rotfl:
Anyway I have been looking on the internet as these caught my eye, but they are out of stock.Does anyone know where else I can get them from at a good price??
Thanks
Well I plan an afternoon of stitching, so I will read back later of what I have missed
Sometimes it takes starting a new project to get your mojo back again. We'll allow it...lol!Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Chicky - IF looks fantastic :T
I'm afraid I'm not much help with mounts, never done my own. But good news about your magazines, hope hubby proves himself useful and can print them!:j
Oh, that's not very fair :(Could it be water retention or something, maybe it will settle back to normal next weigh in?
Blooming hope so! Keep your fingers crossed for me.
Sweetcarer-that purplework is coming along very nicely.
Does anyone use pinking scissors to cut aida? Was thinking about getting pair as they are half price in hobbycraft at the moment. Do they help with fraying at all?Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

just thought I'd share my bargain buy (at least I think it is as light effect threads seem to be over £1 each + p&p).
2xsilver, 1 green and 1 red light effect DMC skeins for £2 + £1 postage.
Grab it now for your christmas makes. linky.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
I bought some pinking shears - useful when I can't be bothered to stitch round the aida to stop fraying but the thread when I first start off usually catches - little bit of a bugbear but nothing too annoying. They are useful for those must stitch moments and also handy for finishing off designs.0

Oh no, hope you fell better soon.
I just use regular scissors and then over so, or masking tape the edges of my fabrics. If I had my sewing machine here I'd probably use that though.
I made it to the knitting and stitching show at Ally Pally in the end, took mum with me! It was soooooo busy, absolutely crazy! and I met Emily Peacock and Michael Powell
I was very good, only bought what I needed, which was some felt for the backs of my christmas decs, some needles, needle threader and a thread cutter.
The design is one my mum chose for me to do for her, although I really like it as well.
The wording says;
Let the spirit of Christmas bring you peace
Let the gladness of Christmas give you hope
Let the warmth of Christmas grant you love
It has some drawn thread work on it which I've never done before so it'll be an experiment!
The Black Sheep was there and they had 3 of the dimensions kits I like stitched up, Aurora Cabin, Holiday Village, and Winter's Hush. Think Holiday Village is my favourite but didn't buy it as I've got enough to do!!!
Well done on your bargain Chicky, and IF looks wonderful
Just ate a massive chinese takeaway, am struggling to not eat the rest. So I'm going stay away from the kitchen and relax in front of a movie with my stitching :ACross Stitch Cafe Challenger No. 26 :hello:XStitch to do list:-- Birth Sampler -- Christmas Angel -- Mum's Xmas Stitch -- Christmas decs 3 & 4 -- Xmas Bird ---- Snowflake Sonata -- Be Jolly -- JE Unicorn -- Start HAED!!! --0 -
