I don't feel quite so wretched any more. Managed to make a huge pan of veg soup and stick the last of the leek and potatoes in the slow cooker to make more soup. Soup is good when you don't feel well though so nobody seems to mind the change of food plans.

I still feel dizzy and light headed though so I haven't been able to get the shopping in as I can't drive (and DH doesn't drive.) Maybe tomorrow. But we get our fruit and veg delivery on Tuesdays so there will be plenty to eat at least!

Good luck, Moggins. Hugs to the rest of the poorly people.

    Goodnight.
May all your dots fall silently to the ground.

    Evening all.

Not much to share, but thought I'd show my face.

W**k today was frustrating. I work in technical services for mortgages, and part of that is sales and aquisitions of mortgages to/from other companies. So, accounts being sold need an exit letter. A sale went through Friday night, so we requested 3000 exit letters. They arrived this morning, and approx 1000 have worked. The remainder have no names, addresses or account numbers on! Yeah, thats helpful! So, have had to go through them manually to find out which we are missing, so we can reprint them tomorrow. what a boring day!

HM pizza this evening, though on bought bases:o (I know, I know, its easy to make. In my defence they were bought about a year ago and have been sat taking up freezer space.)

I'd love a glass of wine now, but I've got docs on Weds to findout whether or not I'm pregnant (symptoms a plenty :j but negative test.) so am playing safe and not drinking, just in case. So, if anyone has a bottle open, have a snifter for me will you?

Cheers, and hugs to all who want/need them.

If it makes you feel any better, my day was fairly annoying too - its the end of the financial year so in my line of work its known as hell week (banking) and today it truly was! I cant believe how busy it has been, I suppose things havent been helped by the BACS failure last week for a heck of a lot of peoples wages - sorting everything out has become a pure nightmare!

Oh well, Im looking forward to my nice Friday and Monday off!

Thanks emma, we are back home now. He was having bad chest pains so rushed him up to a+e, but after approx 4 hours in there he is ok. He has raised emziems?? in his blood which are causing the pain. Has to rest for a few days.

Deric Longden is the funniest writer I have ever read.If you have the blues read one of his books and I guarantee you will be grinning in minutes.
I once made the mistake of trying to read one on a packed train and look a complete nutter as I just couldn't stop giggling .He should be mandatory reading for anyone who is feeling down in the dumps

    Hi all

I did the silly thing of lying down for "five minutes" when I got in from w*r* - four hours later I woke up feeling all refreshed. When will I ever learn, lol!

Bad news regarding my friend's kitten - the kitten has escaped again, and hasn't been seen for three days. My friend thinks that the little beasty is around somewhere as food that has been left out gets scoffed almost right away. However if the kitten wasn't pregnant before I should imagine she will be by now. Fingers crossed she gets caught and kept inside asap.

AussieLass, I hope your OH's man flu clears up pretty soon.

Pink - did you swallow a dictionary??

Paulie's Girl...Malaga, oh you lucky lucky woman you! You'll have a fantastic time, especially after all the recent stress you've had to face.

JackieO/Catznine, I'm going to investigate the author Deric Longden, you have both made me very very interested in reading some of his books. They will help me get through these sleepless nights (yes I know I could do a bit of housework or something else useful and productive instead...)

Catznine, eek an abscess...must have been agony! Glad it's getting sorted for you, especially before your holiday.

I guess I should really have started the daily for the 3rd...never mind, I'm sure someone else will be along in the shake of a lamb's tail!

    Bye all

Definately agree JackieO! His books should be available on the NHS!

Snowy you will love them! A good book to begin with is "The Cat Who came in from the Cold" I defy you not to laugh out loud! especally at the part where Thermal gets at the home made wine!:rotfl:
