OS Monday 2nd April 07

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Monday 2nd April. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Good morning everyone

I am really annoyed with myself! Yesterday I spent an awful lot of time sleeping (well, I'm glad I got some sleeping done hurray!) but the upshot is that I have barely slept during the night. Grrr! I'm not looking forward to w*r* now as I know I'll have trouble keeping my peepers open.

N9eau - did you get your wine from Sainsbury's yesterday? It sounded like a good plan you had there, so fingers crossed it worked. BTW the staff discount will be 15% until 10th April.

My friend's little lady kitten escaped from her house one day during the week and disappeared for a full 24 hours. The kitten is about four to five months old, and there has been a number of previously unseen boy cats around lately:think:. Does anybody know of a pregnancy test you can do on a suspected naughty little kitten
_pale_? I have encouraged my friend to get the kitten spayed, but since the kitten was very very nervous and was originally semi-feral it has been put off and put off - fingers crossed it's not too late now.

Pink, I hope the ulceration on your gum that you mentioned the other day isn't hurting. I'd encourage you and Shez to go to the dentist. Or as Catnine put it GO TO THE DENTIST! These things don't tend to get better on their own. BTW Shez I hope you are OK, you haven't been posting quite as often lately.

Smoky, I hope your DH had an uneventful night.

Bye for now, have a fab Monday all.

SnowyOwl

    Morning all,

Snowy, you must have needed the sleep, have a good day at work today.
Blairweech, those recycling bins sound great, where did you get them?
Gingham, I hope you feel a bit better today, I get sinusitis from time to time and it's terribly painful.

Well, isn't just typical! First day of the Easter holidays and I get a chance of a lie in...and I'm up with the larks! Just as well as I've promised to paint the porch today. The hall is finished and looking really clean and fresh so hopefully that'll encourage me to get on with it.

Thank goodness April Fools is over.....it wears a bit thin when you have a six year old in the house, especially as he kept going into a paroxysm of giggles so you knew it was an april fool but had to play along anyway. The first time was funny though, I helped him into the blue wheelie bin (the clean one for papers etc) and sent Mr Pink out with a pile of magazines. He frightened the living daylights out of his dad! :rotfl:

Ok, my coffee is finished, need to put the breadmaker on and begin the day. Just for a change there's a load of washing to do and I need to go out to the garage and take a look in the freezer to decide what to do for tea tonight.

    Have a good day everyone.

    Hi all

I can't believe I'm up so early and DD's are off nursery! DH gets up at 4.30 for work and I haven't really slept since then. DD's are still asleep, so going downstairs in a mo to get started.

My parents are having DD's this morning until just before tea. I am making a beef stew for family in slow cooker (vegie one out of freezer for me). Then when that is on, I will go for one of my twice weekly runs.

Then washing out, tidy up and start my weekly cleaning jobs. I am hoping to get as much done today as DD's off nursery. With any free time (LOL) I will do some ebay. I have parcels to wrap and some more things to list.

I put some books onto Amazon over the weekend - never sold on there before, so it will be interesting to see how it goes.

    Have a good day

    Good morning everyoen,

((HUGS)) to all those feeling poorly xxx

catzine - hope all goes ok today at the dentist xxx

First day of the school holidays, but im still up early as im still working - however, i have Friday and then the following week off, so i really am looking forward to that!!!!
I love the school holidays, i love having my children home with me, and they do help with the LO, which is a big help.
Plans for today - the baking i promised DD yesterday, WM and DW to go on and i need to make a lasagne for dinner tonight - ive already got the 'spag bol' i made the other day out of the freezer ready, so just need to put it all together. Will serve it with veg for me and HM chips for the children. Apart from some cleaning (which i should be able to get done a bit quicker today, due to the helpers looking after LO while i do something - wont matter if i take more than 1 minute as they will tell me if anything is happening!!!) i think thats it. Maybe a walk for everyone later, will see what they fancy doing!!

Hope everyone has a lovely day,
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
  • Morning all.
Sorry to hear that so many of you are feeling unwell, both here and in the arms. Hope you all begin to feel better soon. If you have the opportunity, stay under the duvet til you feel abit brighter. ill.gif
I,ve been up much too early for the first day of the school hols, Thought that I might get a lie in but sadly no. I'm not the world greatest sleeper.
It might have been the thought of a visit from my DD's dad. AKA To$$er.
He comes to visit her once a month (if she's lucky), gives her £20 pocket money and bu**er all for me and then tries to make himself out as dad of the year. Its not the money that bothers me but the way he treats her then expects her to think he's great and then throws a wobbly when she doesn't.
angry2.gif Feel better after ranting. I'll just have to pour myself a stiff G & T to get through the afternoon.

Hope you all enjoy your day.
    Useless x;)

    Morning!

Just a quick post from me as I have to dash and get ready for work. Im suprised im not more tired given the lack of sleep I had last night. I let my sleeping pattern get a bit out of control last week becuase i was off work and i couldnt get to sleep till late last night.

On the upside, Ive managed to finish all the spring cleaning so the house is sparkly and all my clothes are ironed so I dont have the mad dash to iron work trousers this morning which is a nice feeling. Im going to try and stay on top of it from now on and not let it get out of control again!

Anyway, must dash, I dyed my hair yesterday and it needs a good washing this morning!

    Morning all

Hugs to Mrs_mix and Catzine, hope you both feel better soon.

Nice sunny day here, off to DS for some decorating, hopefully we are now nearly finished and we can put his house up for sale before Easter :D

Good luck to anyone with littlies off school, I remember what hard work it was

Have a good day everyone x
You're only young once, but you can be immature forever :D
  • Good morning everyone,

I hope all who have been feeling poorly see some improvement soon. Hugs where they're needed.

It will be another quiet day chez groatie, still to see the gp tomorrow and I'm hoping he'll sign me off til after Easter Monday. In the meantime I'm doing every natural health recommendation that will mitigate the side effects of treatment. Onwards and upwards is the only way to go!

Today I really must blitz my bedroom, apart from that I have yogurt to make and will resurrect a pot I managed to burn the other day - puy lentils boiled dry - ro the stage that the pot was smoking - have been soaking the pot with stardrops, so wish me luck.
If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.
