    Morning everyone

Wow isnt this weather amazing:j Luckily I have 2 lots of washing to get out so it will be be made the most of!!
Really tempted to sit out for a bit today but I havent sent any warning leaflets out to neighbours to avoid looking out the windows lest they see the pasty white beached whale at number 3!!

Had a lovely weekend - I went to visit my brother and he cooked a most amazing dinner which left me in awe of his seemingly newly found Jamie Oliver skills - he did lose some OS brownie points though when the next day he just chucked all the remains away including some Lobster Bisque which was just to die for and would have fitted well in my freezer:D

Yesterday we went to visit my adopted seal - Popeye - who was lying by the side of his pool soaking up the sun (like adopted mum like son!!) - He is so very cute I just want to bring him home. The sanctuary had had lots of new seal pups and they are so sweet how anyone can club these gorgeous animals to death is beyond me:mad:

Taking my mum and dad for a late lunch today but before that need to have a good tidy up of the house - somehow most of my clothes seem to be outside the wardrobes instead of in (waiting I would guess to be ironed ) supppose I should get it done.

Anyway hugs to all as ever and hope the peeps feeling under the weather get better soon

    Morning all
had a sort of nice weekend with dbro - downside was that we went to watch our respective teams and mine lost - again :( Then we all went back to his gf's and had christmas - yay!
Am off to see a friend now - her OH left her on new years eve - nice one mate! - and has left her in a bit of a financial pickle having put a charge on her house to pay off his debts a year ago. He says that he will pay towards it for the rest of this year but she doesn't trust him and is looking for a new job to make up the £450 that she reckons she will be short of each month. I will of course refer her here but I'm sure she'll be ok as when we met we were both on income support and it was she that introduced me to being tight ... er i mean careful with money.
    love to all

oops! Just started to post when the breadmaker beeped! Ok though lovely half and half loaf from the panny (not let me down yet!:T ).

Pink - It is not too bad, you will worry, we all do! But they have a tendancy to bounce back for holiday breaks, part time jobs to help fund social life (and serious choc habit;) ) so it is a slow letting go IYSWIM financially it is hard for offspring and parents. DD asked us to control finances for her so she paid her student loan into our account, we then paid her rent directly and then paid an allowance (which we topped up) into another account in her name, this she used for bus fares, food, bills and spending. This way the loan could not be spent in one big shoppingfest! You will miss them though!

One and a half hours to go! Not that I am counting!:D

    Hi

Had a busy day yesterday with the 2nd viewing - just need to get the surveyor out of the way tomorrow and see what she comes up with. I hope these other people create some competition.

Made HM pizza in the BM yesterday - it was brilliant - shall do that again:)

Today making a batch of potato/veg in sauce in the SC

Taking it easy today - feel knackered.
    An average day in my life:hello: :eek::mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T :o :rotfl: :rotfl: :p :eek::mad: :beer:

    Morning all.
What a beautiful day, DH is emptying the compost bin there's some lovely stuff in there, the garden will love it. We have very heavy clay soil so it needs of stuff digging in.
We had a nice weekend, went to the garden centre and was treated to a bacon butty for my birthday, it was yummy and only £1.20. Bargain.
I'm still painting the bathroom, it takes me ages but I don't care, I like doing it. Just having a coffee break then I will hang some washing out.
Dinner tonight will be gammon in slow cooker with new potatoes and lots of veg.
    Have a nice day.

Hi all, not been around much but have decided to post today.

My DD3 is off school today with tummy pain, she was poorly most of last week, sort of on and off, went to school 2 days out of the 4 she should have been there. She should have gone on a school trip today but eventually convinced me she was not well enough - OH still not convinced has given me a long lecture about rods for my back!!!!

DD3 is seeing her Dad at the end of the week for a week so that may have some thing to do with it.

Hope everyone who got off to a bad start this morning has an improved pm and to everyone else keep up the good work.

Hugs to all that need them.

    Morning everyone

Got up really late today (most unlike me), and now am feeling all behind. WM on, want to get a few loads done today to take advantage of the beautiful weather.

DH working from home today, which always seems to disrupt any desire I have to get on with personal things - like going out on my bike for a bit of exercise. (I don't really like cycling, but it's preferable to walking as it's faster).

I was going to paint my bathroom ceiling, which has lots of black clouds on it. I always have candles when I bathe, and the soot ends up on the ceiling. But it's just too nice weather. I've got the paint and some new brushes, so I'll just get them ready and do it when the weather isn't as good.

Haven't sorted out what else I need to do today, so I'll go and do that now.

Hugs to everyone who needs them

    Morning everyone
I worked until 23.00 last night, a very restless evening at the hostel culminating with one of our residents trying to strangle a guest.... luckily my crisis intervention skills are excellent ( well, they need to be...).
Today I need to look at our budget and rethink a few things... we have had some serious outgoings including a cartax, a new tyre, shoes/clothes for kids and a MOT  . Budget is not looking healthy:o .
I need to read the slow cooker thread since I am still thinking about having one. I'm just a bit worried if it as useful for us vegetarians since lots of the recipes seem to be for meat eaters.
Wishing you all a happy Monday, take care.

  • Hi

Just to say - pot resurrected thanks to stardrops, wire wool and elbow grease - thanks Pooky for the advice re washing soda - will bear that in mind for the next time it happens - about once every three months when I get distracted!!!

I'm just about to go and change the filter on the extractor hood, smells foul after its dose of cremated lentils......
If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.
