Avoid the sliced white bread, especially if you don't plan on using it straight away - it's soggy and goes mouldy very quickly :(
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.
  • Was going to buy the value egg sandwich until I saw how much fat was in a packet. 34g I think it was

I've bought value bread before and it's been fine if abit of the small side, it could be down to how your store stores it.

I use alot of value products and i'm fine with pretty much all of of it.

    honey
    jam
    marge and lard for baking
    flour
    mixed dried fruit
    tinned carrots and sweetcorn
    lemon curd
    apple sauce
    cornflakes
    beans
    spagetti
    dried spagetti
    kidney beans
    all veg
    sweet and sour sauce
    curry sauce
    custard
    rice pudding
    all frozen veg
    all fruit
    frozen chips
    frozen battered fish
    frozen yokshires
    frozen sausage rolls
    all cleaning products
    pitta bread
    wraps
    bread
    malt bread
    all tinnes fruit
    all biccys
    crisps
    midget gems
    grated cheese
    corned beef
    ham
    eggs
    blackcurrant squash
    cola

    DEC GC £463.67/£450
    EF- £110/COLOR]/£1000
  • Tinned tomatoes are pretty good from the value range, I'm also a fellow advocate of the squash and "fresh" (read from concentrate) apple and orange juice.
Both tinned tuna and tinned sweetcord have been fine as have the kidney beans.
Everyone has a dark side... apparently mine is called Harold?!?

Tried the value bars of soap couple of months ago and its still by the sink! ie. does not lather or dissipate just slips out of your hands, in fact I think its indestructable.
Did use the baby shampoo for liquid soap but thought is was about 9p, looked for some more and is it 46p or something now? hence buying the bars. Mistake:eek:

I just wanted to mention that it may be worth stocking up on the value (or basics or any other economy range) right now as the Christmas stuff is starting to arrive, once it hits the 6 weeks 'till Xmas mark most if not all the value range will appear to vanish and all the over priced Christmas products will be put in its place. Happens every year and always takes people aback.
