Tesco Everyday value - brief reviews

Not Everyday Value but the Tesco Daisy range shower spray and antibacterial wipes (pink grapefruit smell) are really good. Also the Value foil food wrap is fine for wrapping sandwiches etc and seems a really long roll. Lasts for ages.0

Everyday value Branflakes - ingredients and nutrition info exactly the same as own brand, DH says they taste the same and at 83p a box can't go wrong!Fashion on a ration 0 of 660

Is it just my Tesco, or do they seem to be really pushing the value range lately? We have loads of end-of-aisle displays made up of different everyday value stuff.
My reviews from the can't cook/won't cook end of things are that the pretend pot noodles are nice but the instant mash is rubbish
I agree with the lady above about the cornflakes - they're as good as Kellogg's. I like the bread for toast but not for sandwiches.
I also want to say, I like the 'everyday value' packaging miles more than the old, blue and white 'value' packaging. I know it shouldn't make a difference to me, but it does - I feel that the new packaging doesn't scream "I'M POOR!!!!!" like the old one did!"Most of the people ... were unhappy... Many solutions were suggested for this problem, but most of these were largely concerned with the movements of small green pieces of paper, which is odd because on the whole it wasn't the small green pieces of paper that were unhappy." -- Douglas Adams0 -

Haha you beat me to it, love these here too :j
Had their tortillas for making wraps the other day, just as good as any other brand0 -
I'd agree with the Bran Flakes, juice, flour and dried fruit. The butter is fine too.A minute at the till, a lifetime on the bill.
Nothing tastes as good as being slim feels.
one life, live it!0 -
the everyday pitta breads are really nice, we use them to make pitta bread pizzas and at 20p for a pack of 6 they make a really cheap meal with a bit of tomato puree, mushrooms, sweetcorn, cheese and red onion on the top.
Edit: oh also with a sprinkle of everyday value mixed herbs at at 19p for a tub that lasts for ages.0 -
Tesco Everyday Value Pickled Silver Skin Onions 31p were recommend here ages ago as the best silver skin onions so I tried them, & totally agree - they're delicious!
Tesco Everyday Value Sponge Pan Cleaners 5Pk are 14p a packet, I never buy any other washing up sponges since I once tried the asda value ones and they didn't last 5 minutes. The tesco ones are as good as any more expensive ones (and I don't have a dishwasher so use them every day).
Tesco Everyday Value Sage And Onion Stuffing 15p is fine and you can jazz it up if you want to. I use it occasionally to thicken & add flavour to a stew.
Tesco Everyday Value Chicken Curry (tinned) 53p is less spicy than Asda's version (and my preference). I wouldn't call it a "real" curry but have it as a quick lunch sometimes.
The Tesco Everyday Value Gammon Joints are delicious and I see no point at all in buying more expensive ones. (I cook them in the pressure cooker)
Tesco Everyday Value Lamb/Mutton Mince is fine if you are prepared to drain off the excess fat when you cook it.
Other stuff that's all fine by us include, stock cubes, bleach, sandwich bags, foil, cling film, mustard, value herbs (in a tub), mint sauce, biscuits, flour, bin bags, pickle (Not as nice as Branston, but still OK), cheddar cheese, panty liners, vegetable & sunflower oils, corned beef, ham, apple juice, basmati rice, plastic cutlery, also most fresh fruit & veg all seems fine to me (though I much prefer to buy from a market rather than a supermarket).
To be avoided, vacuum packed beetroot, burgers & sausages. I think the mayo is gross, but hubby would happily eat it.A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0 -
Tried the value pot noodle, and it tasted disgusting.... very weak, no taste compared to a normal chicken and mushroom one, i dont have them very often so will stick to the norm next time.0

Value pickled beetroot is excellent. Half the price of the normal stuff too.0
