It's me again - sorry
Last night we went on a 'Teenage Rampage' to see The Sweet and Slade in Stoke - not that that's at all relevant but still :rotfl:
MrsB was trying to send a WhatsApp in the interval, but it wouldn't go coz there was a random wi-fi there (The Cloud, it was called) so we had to switch off the wi-fi and then the mobile data kicked in and the message went!
Is there (yet another) way round this, apart from doing what I have quoted above which is much too complex for someone not clever enough to be a bishop0 -

basically it will do whatever you want it to do
most people want it to hook up to fast/free wifi service whenever one is available. - that's my preference and that's exactly what it does
you can of course use built in switches to control which service you want to use manually
you can also switch off hotspots so it won't hook up to wifi unless you say so
you could also install an app like silly goose to toggle services in/out as you want toWhen will the "Edit" and "Quote" button get fixed on the mobile web interface?0 -
Is it possible to remove the Vodafone bloatware or is it not really an issue?0

It's an irritation sometimes!
If you use the ICS mentioned earlier in the thread (B940) you get rid of the voda stuff as well as upgrade!0 -

Not really been a problem for me but I am still on GB. You can send the any Vodafone stuff to the system page and remove it from the 5 home pages. I assume if you have loads and loads of APP's its could be a problem.
Only problem I had was I could not change the voicemal settings when I was on O2 but no problems now I am with virgin.0 -

Hmmm, well it wouldn't work for me,maybe that's because my phone is rooted ?
OK,got it working now....if anyone has frozen the vodafone apps that came with your phone you will have to defrost them before the firmware update will install0 -

Reports so far is this is only a partial update (60mb instead of the 350mb full ROM) they fixed the dictionary, other existing problems people reported - Vodaphone claimed were not there and have not done anything about.
Other than that they have updated all the core Google apps in the system folder, this happens via Goggle Play regularly anyway so the ROM version will soon (if not already!) be ignored and the downloaded updated version used by the phone instead.
As I have already fixed my dictionary, and got rid of all the Voda'ness I wouldn't gain a thing as I would have to go back to the stock Voda ROM again to get the update - which fixes nothing I have not fixed already.

Different people are finding different operating systems or versions quicker or slower, which is subjective - so for fun lets see how a benchmark scoring app measures up.. people on GB or Vodaphone ICS can play the game too.
UseAnTuTu.
Here is mine running Clean ICS repack V B940, Force GPU rendering on.0 -

Curiousimo!!
I had wifi off, GPU rendering ON, also turned off all the windows animations settings in developer options. Other than that I have just taken a few system apps out of the phone (youtube viewer, Google+), have a shed load of apps and utilities installed/running though!0
