When you switch wifi off - mobile should switch on without questions.
Sorry, but it didn't switch mobile data back on when I just checked in 'settings'sillygoose wrote: »You are getting a G because your signal is only giving you a slow GPRS connection, mine is H for HSDPA - high speed, makes no other difference0 -

Your welcome, with this version I would say the only essential fix is the dictionary (same bug in most versions)
First I would try installing Huawei utility suite program on your PC - if you don't find it useful you can remove it later but it includes drivers to connect to the phone which will then help..
if you try THIS fix for the dictionary (option 1), all its trying to do is stick a couple of missing files in the right place but it uses trickery as it need to do it on the phone secure side.
Finally if you miss the original Huawei weather widget..get the app directly HERE0 -
All correct sir!
Wi-Fi off manually on the 'top left', then data off in 'settings' etc, then wifi on 'top left'
Sorry, but it didn't switch mobile data back on when I just checked in 'settings'
Confused - you can't have both on together!
when in wifi range (+wifi on), wifi on = forces mobile off,
no wifi = app should automatically switch on mobile data instead.
In other words when wifi is on and connected, the mobile data should be not ticked (switched off) automatically
When wifi is gone, app should shortly switch mobile on - box ticked.
Well, we are only 'country bumpkins' so, any signal is good

Thanks for taking the trouble to pass on all the useful advice. On a steep learning curve with this android stuff, but getting there due to others being generous with their expertise. :T:TIt is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

Well, what a really complicated way of doing something simple.
I hadn't realised this
Maybe it *is* working right - leave it with me and we will see how it goes and ... very many thanks for all your assistance! :T0 -

It should be - basically same phone / software. Its not really something I thought about much. I have my own 'designer toggle' on my homescreen so turning stuff on/off is easy.
I switch off wifi when away from home to save power unless I want to use a hotspot. Same with mobile data, because its a company SIM it includes a lot of data per month but if it were to get 'carried away' downloading I would get in deep doodah.
Basically I switch one or other on when I need internet for something depending on where I am.
Wife's phone has GiffGaff SIM on unlimited data plan so mobile data is left on all the time and as we get HSDPA here its virtually as quick as wifi anyway.0 -

I know what you mean... hence the unlimited plan so everything can be left on.
Don't get me wrong, she's smart but its not like they are clever enough to be something like a Bishop0 -
IPhone 4S, I've just been offered this phone for £340, is this a good phone and price?0

Of course it is a good phone.....but is it worth £274 more than the G300? That is the question you have to ask yourself. If you really like Apple the difference would buy you an ipad Mini (although you could actually get a Nexus 10 for just £45 more!). Worth thinking about...0
