  • Hi everyone,

Just thought I'd introduce myself. I'm a Mum to two girls aged 14 and 12 and I'm owned by one dog and commanded by a miserable moggy.

I have many days when being on my own with the girls really doesn't bother me and I'm more than happy with the situation . Admittedly I am lucky, I have a very good relationship with my ex and his wife and we share the parental responsibility with the girls 50/50.

However I also get lonely days, where all the benefits of being on your own mean nothing. Sometimes all you want is a "how was your day?" hug. So what I do try to do is stay positive, I know that I'll be in a good relationship again, it just may not be for a little while yet. The kids do get to an age where you can leave them, and you can get out and meet people again and make new friendships.

Also when people do ask me about my partner (people will automatically assume I'm married to a squaddie as I'm a soldier myself) I just say "I'm between men at the moment" Their face is always a picture and I like the sound of being a floozy!!!!:rotfl:

So keep your chins up and have a great Sunday

Your single if you want to be a floozy you can be! I admit to having a floozy year after a particularly difficult relationship ended (before I was a Mum), it was terribly liberating, I would highly recommend it.

Those moments of lonliness are horrible when they hit, aren't they? I'm usually too buy to notice I'm lonely, or I have at least 1 child attached to me :rotfl: but every so often it is there.

Where would you find the energy to be a floozy now? I'm often falling asleep on the sofa by 9pm & so far I've spent 3 evenings trying to catch up on watching Downton Abbey only to find I've nodded off within minutes of stiing down :D. Anyone else do this? So annoying  . I doubt if I went out on a date (& there doesn't seem to be much chance of that:rotfl: ) that I'd be able to stay awake till the end unless it was for a very strong coffee...
& as for some happy ending I'd rather stay single & thin :D

  • Apologies now for any spelling mistakes, I am doing this on my phone and I am typing quickly as I am cross.

I just having a conversation with a lady at work, when she asked if I had sorted out my Christmas exertion yet. 'Yes' I replied, and went on to tell her how this year I had booked a Travel Lodge and we were going to Christmas Market. I had also booked a table for our evening meal, and everyone was very excited about going.

WHEN another lady (who I don't get on with anyway) buts in with ' And how can afford that on one income ?'

To which I go on to explain the room is only £40 and I go halves with my friend, whose daughter is the same age as mine. I am using Tesco vouchers to pay for the meal etc.
When I stopped and told her ' And of cause unlike you I don't smoke'

The first lady said she is just jealous because her husband won't take her anywhere. But why do people think I should be poor because I am single, and why do I feel I should explain and justify what I spend my money ?

Rant over ! Back to work ! Keep smiling !

I get this a lot, as I am good with money, work hard and bought myself a holiday home in Turkey for my 40th, I have even been accused of being a benefits thief and was reported even though I have never claimed benefits! I now answer " oh, I sleep with strangers for money".

    Xmas Saver!
Days like this I love being single.

It's pouring with rain, and I am still in my PJs watching carp on the TV, eating biscuits :j

We are having carbonara for dinner as I really can't be a*sed to cook. :j

hee hee, me too, DD out with friends and I am just thinking about showering. I was out last night and Friday night so a bit cream crackered, so just relaxing is great. Thinking about a nice long bath but the problem with that is as soon as I get in some-one will call round.
