No, we are discussing sterilisation for the childless under 30's, if you can find figures on that Fire Fox would be grateful.0 -

I don't really have a problem with the term - its just not one I'm familiar with when talking about surgeons who perform those operations. I probably do have more of an issue with the term "abortion" because of the way the word has been taken to mean different things in more recent years (like someone who is living, is an adult and is living "an abortion that is their life" - I don't really understand why the word "abortion" is used in that way nowadays).
Gawd I sound like a right old fogey!0 -

I'm sure even you don't believe that a GP will happily say to a womann "Ah yes, I'll refer you to an abortionist"......................I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

Others opinions are that a child is indeed killed when an abortion is executed.
Obviously when you have an abortion, or are considering it, it helps to think of the child inside you to be as unpersonal and lifeless as possible, which you make a very determined argument towards.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -

But the info was available to you and its the patients responsibility to read the enclosed leaflet, I always do whenever I get new medications, I've got one child and don't want any more so I'm very careful to check the small print. I'm sure plenty of people don't read the leaflet, but you can't expect your GP to tell you every side effect, some tablets I'm on at the moment have a small book filled with side effects, some quite serious, if my GP went through each one I would need a 2 hour appointment!
Both doctors and pharmacists should be counselling patients who are using the contraceptive pill and antibiotics simultaneously, that has been best practice for years but, having worked in pharmacies I can tell you it doesn't always happen.
Patient Information Leaflets did not become a requirement until a few years ago, they were often absent from antibiotics because these were 'packed down' from a bulk supply rather than being in a calendar pack. A fairly high percentage don't read the PIL or don't read it thoroughly, and teens are particularly irresponsible/ non compliant with prescribed medication. Even when people do read the PIL, they often discard them or don't reread when they get a repeat script or new medication. We can berate people for not being responsible but the reality is those who need a termination are simply the ones that get caught out. You might argue those who don't have the sense to read the PIL won't have the sense to make great parents either.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -

Hmmm. 47% of women who have had an abortion have more than one. So, whilst you are right to say it is a minority, only just!0
