Can =/= should or must though.
If people don't want coils fitted, they shouldn't have to justify that decision to strangers who have an unhealthy obsession with their reproductive organs, its pretty invasive.0 -

Many types of sexual activity can't possibly lead to a pregnancy, and many others have a very low possibily of it. Even "vanilla" sex between a fertile man and a woman of childbearing age can have a low possibily of conception depending on the point in the woman's cycle that it happens.
I am not saying me, but every single time you have sex you run the risk of getting pregnant or impregnating. It's a fact of life. I like having sex don't get me wrong but after falling pregnant on the coil it has made me think a lot about the whole process. No one thinks when they have adequate contraception that it's going to fail after all they wouldn't be taking it or having that contraception if they didn't.3 Children - 2004 :heart2: 2014 :heart2: 2017 :heart2:

No more invasive than giving birth. I didnt think having a coil fitted was comfortable at all but a few minutes of pain is nothing when considering the potential of a child and birth and even more so an unwanted child.3 Children - 2004 :heart2: 2014 :heart2: 2017 :heart2:

Well no, but I have no intention of doing either, its not an either/or thing so your post makes no sense!0 -

I can see why you needed a good supply now!!:T:T:rotfl:
What is average?
I am often in an area where I work which distributes condoms to students. No one ever asks for anything other than large or extra large!
Average is when a condom fits on without cutting off blood supply
Yes Im sure students might say that :rotfl:. Infact when my DH was younger he asked a woman in a shop if she had anything for a larger size (hes not shy) and she showed him some, he checked the back of the pack and said sorry no thats not going to do it. And hes not exaggerating! So condoms simply dont work for us reliably - at least not unless you were able to find some specialist on the internet or something. Which is not practical when travelling and for both of those reasons means they are not reliable enough.
Hence why I wanted the pill for a year. And not to mention that its useful for stopping periods etc.0 -

My experience of having a coil in (and out) was horrendous. It was very painful, not just 'uncomfortable'. I hadnt given birth naturally at that point (but had dilated several centimeters before having a section) so perhaps that is why.
Having said that, once in it was great, no periods, no spots so when I am not planning on having a child I will definitely get one fitted again.0
