I actually dont think there is anything wrong with judging people for perceived stupid behaviour.
I personally would judge a woman who has had multiple abortions due to not being responsible with contraception as somewhat idiotic (why someone would go through an abortion several times instead of using contraception properly I dont know).
That doesnt mean to say that I would deny them an abortion because essentially IMO the end result i.e. an unwanted baby is worse than multiple abortions.
Of course we should try to educate people as best we can but unfortunately, as in many walks of life, there are just some people who simply choose to ignore good advice for whatever reason.
One thing this thread has reminded me of is just how much the responsibility of contraception falls with women. What about the responsibility of all the males impregnating women with all these aborted babies? The reality is, for most men, wearing a condom is just far too inconveinient. How many of us have heared the raincoat comment?0 -
I think people forget that sex was actually to reproduce and not enjoyment and that it may happen no matter how careful you are. It's just the way life is many sleep with people who are not someone they would want to have children with!
No one is perfect. But I don't think many people think about this before having sex with someone.3 Children - 2004 :heart2: 2014 :heart2: 2017 :heart2:

Yep, there are hundreds of women completely shocked when the doctor tells them they're pregnant because it just completely slipped their mind that sex can do that!0 -

Many types of sexual activity can't possibly lead to a pregnancy, and many others have a very low possibily of it. Even "vanilla" sex between a fertile man and a woman of childbearing age can have a low possibily of conception depending on the point in the woman's cycle that it happens.0 -

The point is that even when sex is for fun there is a possibility however small of conception. No idea what 'vanilla' sex is. :rotfl:Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

Since she had a problem with taking the pill I'd have insisted on a contraceptive implant. Unfortunately I doubt she told the doctor that she regularly forgot to take the pill for days on end so she (and many others) will be part of the statistics that say that the pill can still fail when taken properly.Person_one wrote: »I have absolutely no idea what your planned and wanted pregnancy had to do with her unwanted one
Perhaps I was just trying to demonstrate that despite my own circumstances I was still prepared to support someone in their choice.Person_one wrote: »or why on earth her miscalculation over the dates would make you angry.
Because with choice comes the responsibility to make sure that any termination is done as soon as possible while the pregnancy is still a bundle of cells.Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

Re folk saying that the coil can't be fitted unless you've had children, I had another friend who had an abortion at the end of the 70s and a coil was fitted as part of the procedure. Maybe things have changed nowadays but I'm assuming the 'no kids, no coil' stance is to do with the cervix never having been dilated but it frequently has been with an abortion (and in some you could say the woman has technically given birth.)Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)
