what you want and what you get in life are 2 different things.

How do you kNOW you wont like working somehwere till you try it?

...someone drag me outta here *please* lol

That is true I don't know. But I know nothing about banks, hospitals or business, so I just do not see how I can get a job there as I know nothing about them. If I want for an interview at a bank say I would not have the first clue about what they want me to say.

Every job in the world is important you fool....

It is not like I would be staying at uni as none of the jobs I am interested in are related to being a student.

I have quickly flicked through these posts, so forgive me if I missed something glaringly obvious, but; do you have a job Phil?

Do you really want a job? If you want a job, why not get any kind of job, you are much more likely to be offered other jobs if you show you are willing to work now.

I worked in a pie factory and did bar work, whilst I was looking for jobs, and I have 2 degrees.

These days it's not always a case of being qualified, but showing you can do the job, and that starts by showing you are willing to do A job.

I'm sure though looking for a job you should be applying all the time, and signing up to 2 agencies and only sending out 3 letters in one night hardly seems like you really want a job.

I don't mean to sound harsh, I just wanted to put my opinion across.

Of course I want a job, but in the longer term it must be a job I enjoy and can do well at.

I do not have a job now.

I have done lots of work mostly unpaid, true, a bit paid, but it is all work never the less.

I think you do need to know about the sector to get a job in it as firms want all the relevant qualifacations and some experience in the sector for even the most basic jobs.

I bet you will be the first one to have a go at me if I don't have a job after I graduate too.

  • How do you know what you like and dislike without doing stuff.

I started my current job, and everything they asked 'could I do' I said yes, then I learnt and got by cause I wanted a job, and if you get something you can move on, you don't really need to have the perfect job now, you need to work at the perfect job, if you even know what that is.

  • A university has to be my best shot at a job because I know nothing about business or the private sector so my chances of a job would be zero there. At least with universities I have a good idea what they are about.

As I said before - you are still at school - you don't know anything about anything yet!

You might not like working in a university - it is very different to being a student, you know.

Once you get out of the school system you might know what you are talking about.

What jobs have you had Phil?

What do you want to do?

Do you think you want to be at a university, cause its nice, or do you actually want to do something specific?
